Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2004 Viruses don't really affect the CPU. About the worst they can do is erase your hard drive, but that's done thru software. Viruses really can't affect your hardware at all. In a more serious reply than my first one, which was offered in the spirit as the irony in asking for help in finding self-help books, check out sites like Tom's Hardware (no relation) and Hard OCR for more information about problems specific to a CPU.
