What's good about them? I can understand and accept Angle. He's at the end of his rope. But there's no reason to repeatedly shove Big Show in these pointless matches full of jobbers and low carders. If you're going to push him, fucking push him.

It's a tradition, for the most part Anglesault.

Can't you just accept that?

tradition is overrated

Next you're going to say that they abolish the Royal Rumble match.

The Rumble accomplishes something.

A SurSer match can, too. Both HBK and Ortbran came out of last year's looking pretty damn good.

Although I do think the SurSer matches often can seem forced and artificial when guys who weren't at all associated a few weeks prior suddenly decide to team up in a match. It works well when there are established stables, but when there aren't, you get things like Team Doink...

Something that will be lost on AS when it comes to it "not meaning" anything, The Series matches traditionally advance or set up angles, so in essance it's just like the rumble in that aspect. It also saves matches for the next ppv, something WWE is struggling with, keeping fresh matches available. So if they didn't use the Series Format, they would be forced to blow the Angle/Guerrero 3 Match at this show but as it stands, you can further the delay before the inevitable blowoff match likely at Armageddon or Royal Rumble.

Personally, I'd say save the Booker/JBL match, set up a second Series match and use that to show that Booker CAN beat JBL(instead of the usual thrown together tag match forumula we usually get). Have Booker/JBL at Armageddon along with the Angle/Guerrero blow off there. Since WWE is hard up for a Angle/'Taker Main event for WMXXI, Booker would leave with the title and Eddy wins the blowoff, but Angle gets the title shot regardless, I'd even have an angle where Eddy claims there is a conspericy from Theodore Long.

So to say the Series match is pointless is a completely inaccurate, the traditional format is a draw and it saves the brand from blowing 4-5 potential matches for their next respective brand ppvs.

I'd Say it should be like this

Angle-Jindrak-Reigns-Kidman-CCC

Vs

Eddy-TBS-Chavo-London-Mysterio

JBL-Kenzo-Dupree-Dvon-Buh Buh

Vs

Booker-RVD-Holly-Haas-Rico

Undertaker Vs Heidenreich

HHH-Batistia-Flair-Le Resistance

Vs

Orton-Benjamin-Maven-Regal-Eugene

Edge-Christian-Tomko-Snitski-Dean

Vs

Benoit-Jericho-Rhyno-Tajiri-Venis(or Rosey, Hurricane, Richards, whichever face. Dean happens to be working House show circuit with Venis).

Woman's Title Match

Trish Vs Victoria (I'd save the Lita return match, by saying she's not medically cleared so Lita basically does everything make sure Trish is still the champion by the time she's cleared).

By having this set up, You save yourself alot of matches for other shows and set up or advance angles even more and still allows you to put on a good show that'll draw a good buyrate.

Part of my problem is this God awful mishmosh of the card. If it was Eddie/Show/Booker/Undertaker vs. Angle/JBL/Heidenreich/Big Heel, I wouldn't mind.

But when you start meshing in the jobbers (Morgan, Jones last year, Jindrak this year) Low card go nowhere guys (Albert, Bradshaw, Reigns) and JTTS (Holly, Spike, RVD, Rey), let's face it, you're not setting up legitimate future matches for Big Show. You're filling out a match.

Like you mentioned, they are absolutely hell-bent on running Angle vs. Eddie further into the ground, leaving only Jindrak, Spike and Luther for the Show.

That's just a waste of the guy.

Which is what i don't understand here, As great as Booker is as a face and how much he deserves another token run for the early 2003 bullshit. Why isn't it JBL/TBS instead?

Think about it, TBS shouldn't be working with the mid-card jobbers and unless they turn him heel which would be stupid at this point. He's stuck with nothing. TBS should easily dethrone JBL, which adds the final arch to the Angle/TBS feud that would be blown off at Royal Rumble where Angle wins the title, personally I say go ahead and blow the Angle/Guerrero "epic" rivalry at Armageddon in I QUIT Match, have JBL cheat yet again at Surivor series over TBS and set up a No Holds Barred type stip for the re-match where TBS finally ends the "long" reign of JBL.

TBS is sadly stuck for a long time unless they turn him or call up a hoss from OVW. I guess they could go with Heidenreich after the 'Taker program but that would be wasted.

TBS/CCC? Could lead to a few amusing entertaining segments but TBS shouldn't be at the U.S Title scene and CCC needs to work with good workers to solidfy himself as the Champion.

TBS is stuck in the Andre the Giant role once again, he basically needs to be used because he still has value but they can't really slide him in there and unlike in 1988, they don't have a throng of nameless jobbers to feed him to entertain the crowd.

It won't surprise me if they book a 3 on 1 handicap match DUDLEYS Vs TBS at Armageddeon.

I agree that they should try to make the 4 on 4 matches mean something.

I think, that what they ought to do, is bring back the tournament kind of thing they had in previous years. Basically, have two teams from RAW and two from Smackdown wrestle each other, then have the survivors from the winning RAW team fight the survivors from the winning Smackdown team.

Hell, they could even take it a step further, and say that the final match must continue until one one man is left (so if there's two RAW guys left when all of SD is eliminated, it becomes one-on-one between the former teammates) and then have some sort of prize for that winner. I would say #1 contendership, but then the Rumble already has that...maybe the winner would be allowed to wrestle anyone he wants, in any match he wants, at the next PPV? I think you could get some neat angles out of that, and it'd totally make the matches mean more.

I'd just let it die out, like they did with Angle and Lesnar. They kind of already had a blow off anyway, and this feud has been so badly botched and mismanaged since it restarted, and the matches just aren't good enough to overcome the crap. Move both guys along.

Eh, the matches have been very good IMO. The feud sucks, yeah. They've had better matches than pretty much everything else on SD this year (a few exceptions, of course).

They've been pretty good. I don't consider "pretty good" worth all the crap.
