Guest wrestling365 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Reader Reports from my latest ezine. Some interesting notes. . . Thanks to W365 readers Chuck Hoover and Nichole for reports from last night's Raw house show in Champaign, IL. Results: Maven over Rodney Mack, Tajiri over Chuck Palumbo, Simon Dean over Rosey, Gene Snitsky over The Hurricane, Jazz won a Diva Halloween costume battle royal, Eugene and William Regal over La Resistance, Shelton Benjamin over Christian, and Chris Benoit/Randy Orton over Ric Flair/Batista. Chuck writes: I really enjoyed the show. Simon Dean came out and insulted the crowd calling them fat and lazy prompting Rosey to come to the ring. Snitsky came out and claimed that killing Lita's baby and hurting Kane wasn't his fault, but anything he did from now on was his fault. Both tag matches were slightly comedic. William Regal was acting like Eugene in the ring which got laughter from the crowd and confused looks from La Resistance. Flair worked the crowd very well as usual. He forced a young boy to come collect his robe but on the way over to him, Orton and Benoit had the boy kick Flair's shins. Throughout the match Flair and Batista flipped Randy off several times and when Orton got into the ring he returned every single one before hitting an RKO on Flair to win the match. Afterwards Orton and Benoit signed autographs around the ring before leaving. They ran the exact same card the night before in Evansville, IN. W365 reader Vicki Lynn Brown went to the Smackdown house show yesterday in Louisville, KY. Results: Rico/Charlie Haas over Kenzo Suzuki/Rene Dupree and The Dudleys, John Heidenreich over Johnny Stamboli, Chris Masters/Matt Morgan over The Bashams, Carlito Caribbean Cool over Bob Holly, and Eddie Guerrero/Rey Mysterio/Big Show over Kurt Angle/Luther Reigns/Mark Jindrak. Vicki writes: We went to Cracker Barrel to eat after the show, and who should pull up right behind us, but Booker T. I joked with him and asked him if he was following us. He said he had just stopped by to get some take out before returning to the hotel. He was very personable, but obviously tired, so we didn't bug him for autographs or photos. We told him we had enjoyed the show and that he had a good match, and left it at that. Danny Davis and Jim Cornette took a number of OVW wrestlers to the show. Among those spotted: Johnny Jeter, Aaron Stevens, Danny Inferno, Tank Toland, Mohammad Hassan, Da Beast, Mike Mondo, Elijah Burke and Melissa Coates. Also, Shane O' Haire -- the younger brother of Sean O' Haire -- was in attendance.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Booker's name wasn't even on the results so how could he be tired and "had a good match"?
Stephen 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Wasn't the turnout for the raw show really poor?. I know it was halloween and all but _____ in an arena that holds at least 15,000 is not very good. You gotta wonder how soon they will be doing shows in really small arenas like they did in 1994.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Well, the next Detroit house show is at Cobo Hall instead of Joe Louis Arena.

You gotta wonder how soon they will be doing shows in really small arenas like they did in 1994. I was at the show in Champaign for Raw. Attendance was probably around 2500-3000 (best guess). Lots and lots of empty seats. My review of the show is on the Observer site. I didn't take a guess at attendance in that report because people were too spread out for me to make a guess for a major news site. Jason
Guest wrestling365 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 Booker's name wasn't even on the results so how could he be tired and "had a good match"? Ooops... JBL over Booker T to retain the ?WWE Title. Broadbent Arena was said to be 50% full which was very low, considering the much smaller venue then the typical Louisville venue of Freedom Hall.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2004 The secondary headline made me picture a 50-foot-tall Booker T eating the restaurant. Or Booker actually eating a barrel full of crackers. "I need a glass of water...SUCKAAAAAAAA!"
