Guest Black Tiger Posted November 1, 2004 Report Posted November 1, 2004 All Japan announced the line ups for this years tag league. Block A 1. Satoshi Kojima & Kaz Hayashi (RWTL 2003 winners) 2. Keiji Muto & Osamu Nishimura 3. D-Lo Brown & Buchanan 4. Great Muta (?) & Love Machine Steele 5. Tomoaki Honma & Kohei Suwama Block B 1. Toshiaki Kawada & TBA 2. Taiyo Kea & Jamal 3. Kensuke Sasaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima 4. Super Love Machine & Love Machine Arashi 5. Nobutaka Araya & Nobukazu Hirai I'm hoping for Kawada to get paired off with Nagai, after seeing AJPW finally start climbing back into the realm of respectability, I'm hoping they can put out a good tournament, and that it isn't plauged with the injuries and bookig problems (caused by Kawada's injury) of the Champions Carnival. Its also about damn time Nagata and Ka Shin defended the tag titles. I wonder who this Great Muta is, since Mutoh is already teaming with Nishimura.
Guest jobsquad Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 i am picking kojima/kaz to repeat going over kawada/nagai in the finals and bringing back the ajpw tag titles.
Guest Black Tiger Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 The Tag league ends with Jamal/Kea beating out Kawada/Nagai in a sudden death play off, and then going over Kojima/Hayashi to win the whole thing. I usually try to defend Mutoh, hell I defended him winning the Champions Carnival this year. But I don't see what he's thinking now. Kawada/Nagai, Mutoh/Nishimura (my personal pick) or Kojima/Hayashi were all perfectly acceptable choice to not only win, but take the tag titles away from Nagata/Ka Shin. I don't mind Kea getting a win, because he's one of the better guys, but I don't Mutoh's big fascination with Jamal. I don't see Jamal/Kea winning the tag titles either. So this just sets up a V1 for the champion, over six months after they first won them, and have basically stuck it to All Japan by not defending them at all. Where has Kendo Ka Shin been anyways?
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 BT, this Great Muta is Johnny Stamboli from FBI fame in the WWE. He wears a mask as well..........
Guest Black Tiger Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Great Muta is Johnny Stamboli from FBI fame in the WWE. He wears a mask as well. Yeah. It had been confirmed after the Tag League started, although everyone thought it was the old NJ Great Muta, who blew his knee out a couple years back.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 Meltzer said that they went with Stamboli because he apparently had a way better build than any of their other candidates......
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 2, 2004 Report Posted December 2, 2004 credit: Wrestling Observer.com --Jamal & Taiyo Kea won the All Japan tag team tournament earlier today in Hachinohe with wins over both Toshiaki Kawada & Mitsuya Nagai, and then over Satoshi Kojima & Kaz Hayashi in the finals
Ace309 Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 (edited) ... I know the words being used in this thread, but things like "Stamboli is the Great Muta" and "Jamal wins a tournament" just won't connect in my brain. Edited December 10, 2004 by Ace309
Kardo Posted December 13, 2004 Report Posted December 13, 2004 Is Jamal any better in NJPW then the WWE. Because I remember seeing him on HWA and he was a hell of alot better there.
