Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 This is going to be a great ending regardless of the result. The first hail mary fails....and A&M could've got that second one, but the receiver couldn't reach the ball.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 OU SURVIVES Texas A&M. Jesus christ. I'm exhausted. What a game! Hopefully it's smooth sailing and hopefully depending on Auburn an Orange Bowl. #1 OU's title hopes came to an end against A&M 2 years ago. #2 OU's title hopes nearly come crashing down today. therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 So much for that OU win over an "elite team" as Texas is getting whooped by OSU.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Who said Texas was elite? Besides......OSU is good and it makes OU look better for beating them in there own house. Hell OSU moved UP after losing to OU.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Listening to the media, you would think that Texas is some Top 5 team.

therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 OU is going to be hurt by Texas losing because that was the supposed "best" team they beat. OU probably needs both Texas and OSU to win out to try and hold ground against Auburn.
Guest bigm350 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Personally I think Auburn is the number 2 team.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Personally I think Auburn is the number 2 team. I'm beginning to agree with all of you. Today was a nightmare. Though Jason White was AWESOME. 5 TD's and no INT's. That's like 25 TD's and 3 INT's on the season.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Personally I think Auburn is the number 2 team. Agreed. If Auburn beats Georgia next week, I see no reason why they shouldn't be #2.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Well even if Texas loses it'll still go down as OU beating 3 top 25 teams and two of them on the road.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 And if Auburn wins out, they should be ahead of OU for beating 3 Top 10 teams during the season. (LSU was #3, Tennessee #8, and Georgia #5).
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Are we counting what they were ranked when OU played them? Because then OU has beaten 4 Top 25 teams b/c Tech was ranked the week they faced them. This race to the Orange Bowl is getting crazy.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 Actually, despite being derided for being "biased against OU" earlier in the year, I actually still think they should be #2 right now. They played a pretty decent nonconference schedule whereas Auburn didn't do shit, and they've played about the same number of strong teams within their conferences. Even if the OSU and A&M games were close, Oklahoma still won both of them on the road. Auburn had LSU at home, and they needed the referees to make up a new rule to keep the game from going to overtime. Again, if Auburn beats Georgia and Tennessee again, and looks fairly good in the process, they would have a really strong case to unseat OU for the 2 slot, but I think that for now, all the talk about Auburn being the real #2 team in the country is pretty unfounded. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2004 I don't know what to think! Oh well last season we didn't know how to come from behind. Apparently we do this season. I found that out yesterday. You know the cool thing about these two games is that they show us how to rally from behind. We just had two tough games against two Top 25 teams(one an intense rival) on the road. And we won them both. I think it builds character for the team and help with confidence b/c we know we can break out of a tight jam with a hostile crowd. Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2004 Well if you ask me I'd rather watch an intense game like OU and A&M was then watch a total beating like A&M got last year. That shits boring to watch.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2004 Funny thing was that last year I was like "A&M beat us last year! I'm going to wake up and watch this entire game! It'll be close and intense!" I ended up sleeping to late and I woke up at like 145 pm. I sat up and was like "Shit the game! I hope OU's alright!" I flip it on and I'm like "The hell? Is this the right game? What's going on? Holy shit......"
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 Rumors are flying around on the local radio station that OU is going to drop 70 on Nebraska. Actually there's people saying that it's going to be worse than the Texas A&M game in Norman last year and that Stoops is going to be an ass about it. Hmmm.......change of attitude suddenly by Stoops. What's the deal?
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 Well apparenlty in the 2 big Heisman Polls: ESPN and the other one(can't remember it's name) OU reigns supreme. In the ESPN one AD is still on top. In the other one Jason White is on top. I agree with White being above Leinhart just b/c he's done more than Leinhart this season. He's been more valuable to his team IMO. B/c when AD is shut down like lately without White OU would be fucked. Not to mention White's awesome. 25 TD's and 4 INTs. That's about a 5 to 1 TD/INT ratio. And I'm guessing he's going to get about 10 more this season. And I doubt that Nebraska or Baylor can intercept him. So we're looking at White ending with 35 TD's and 4 INT's. That's better than what he had last season. He had an 8 to 1 TD/INT ratio last season(40 TD's and 5 INT's).
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 For me its down to White and Alex Smith for quarterbacks, Perterson, Arrington, Benson, and Bush for running backs. Rodgers and Leinart have outside chances if others falter.
lomasmoney 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 If Aaron Rodgers completes one more pass against USC we are talking about him as the front runner for the Heisman Trophy
Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 I don't know about that score, Dama. You have to remeber that everyone seems to try and play well when its against OU, like they all want to hand them the upset. Besides, OU could have all ready ran up the score to 80 or 90 against Houston, but they didn't.

If he does that then they all go "Ooooh look! OU beat this team by 60!" instead of saying "OU only beat this team by 30!?" when all they're looking at is the score and not realizing that OU controlled the pace of the entire game. That's the problem here. The human voters only look at scores and don't realize how some games actually are.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 I think that the score matters in every game to the twits voting. Well seriously I guess I should give them some leeway b/c they can't watch every game. But it just seems that they don't bother to find anything out about the games. They just look at the scores. Well seriously I guess I should give them some leeway b/c they can't watch every game. But it just seems that they don't bother to find anything out about the games. They just look at the scores. My point is that it won't make a difference. They would look at the score, see OU 170, Baylor 0, and they'd be impressed til they see the name "BAYLOR" and they would say, "Oh that's expected. GO USC!" or something to that effect.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2004 See that's another problem. For some reason OU is lambasted for having to come from behind against A&M and playing OSU(an intense rivalry game on the road btw)close when USC is praised as having a courageous come from behind win at Stanford and Oregon State and praised for playing a close game with Cal. It makes no sense.
