Guest theoldxpac Report post Posted November 3, 2004 Im currently having problems with my homepage, as it is set to about:blank, but loads up as some page called "Home search page" It has links for various crap on the internet. It also wont let me change the homepage back through the internet options menu, and gives me a shit load of pop ups, mainly saying i have spyware or viruses and need to click the link to download something to get rid of them. Occasionally the pop ups are porn. Any ideas as i have already tried Norton, Spyware, Ad-Aware (Although i didnt delete everything that this came up with as there was way to much stuff to select to delete). nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2004 It sounds a lot like the problem that my family's PC is having ... is the webpage that springs up as the home page an IP address, rathar than a normal URL? Mine starts with an IP address that starts with 213.something.something.something. Everything sounds the same, including the pop-up and the inability to change it back (even after running HiJack). Guest Coffey Report post Posted November 4, 2004 No, it's spyware still. Get Ad-Aware 6 and then update it. Go to custom scan and select your entire computer. Run that sumbitch and delete anything that comes up. You'll be good to go.
