The Republican Wish List

Recommended Posts

I'm now a member of the conservative brigade, I don't need to bring content on every post. It's home field advantage or something.

Hey Kerry won the TSM election. This is a liberal board, by gawd.

Personally, I think spending untold billions on a theory with precious little actual evidence behind it is silly.

"Scientists know for certain that human activities are changing the composition of Earth's atmosphere. Increasing levels of greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide (CO2 ), in the atmosphere since pre-industrial times have been well documented. There is no doubt this atmospheric buildup of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is largely the result of human activities.

It's well accepted by scientists that greenhouse gases trap heat in the Earth's atmosphere and tend to warm the planet. By increasing the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, human activities are strengthening Earth's natural greenhouse effect. The key greenhouse gases emitted by human activities remain in the atmosphere for periods ranging from decades to centuries.

...the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) stated there was a "discernible" human influence on climate; and that the observed warming trend is "unlikely to be entirely natural in origin." In the most recent Third Assessment Report (2001), IPCC wrote "There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities."

The IPCC states that even the low end of this warming projection "would probably be greater than any seen in the last 10,000 years, but the actual annual to decadal changes would include considerable natural variability."

They, flat out, do NOT know it. Our knowledge of the atmosphere is so minimal it's sad. The quickest way to stop questioning of a theory is to state that NOBODY doubts it.

There are problems with the entire theory.

These articles are interesting and raise some good points. However, they aren't exactly from highly credible sources.

The first is from the CATO Institute-->conservative think tank.

The second is dated.

The third is from the President of the Argentinean Foundation for a Scientific Ecology.

There was a recent story on how the models used for the theory have been proven false.

I've not seen actually solid proof of the theory.

I mean lots of people more knowledgeable about these things than you or me are studying these things. If it gets debunked, then so be it. That doesn't seem to be the consensus in scientific circles, though.

I do think that first article you posted raises some very good questions about the economic impact of global warming policy.

That's a really lame plan. Having to hope the other party does itself in is a weak plan. But keep thinking that. It'll be hilarious to watch as your party continues to lose elections and seats because they don't have a clue what they're doing.

I think that warrants some evil laughter. Mwahahahahahahaha!

Get a clue, 2Gold is an independent. The Republicans haven't done anything to warrant being complained about by indepedents lately. It's the Democrats that are running around like they just had their head cut off.

Nothing? By any independents? I guess I'll just have to take your word for it.

Why don't you let him speak for himself?

Because the guy is an independent, he doesn't need someone who just stumbled onto the board a week ago calling him a shill because he doesn't fall into the liberal rhetoric.

How is this relevant?

he doesn't fall into the liberal rhetoric.

What does this mean? How do you fall into rhetoric?

Again, why does he need you to speak for him?

Cause Mad is doing it just fine. I don't have the tolerance to be a Republican since the extreme side of the party makes me sick to my stomach but the Democrats have done nothing for me recently so I'm not going to happily hug them just because they aren't Republicans.

Plus it was a stupid thing the guy said. WAIT for the Republicans to hang themselves? Well, considering they put the rope around their neck and the Democrats couldn't pull the damn handle I guess waiting is the only option. There was no EXCUSE for the Democrats to bobble the election as much as they did.

Far as I'm concerned, both parties are full of it and as much as I dislike Bush's decisions in most cases I supported the war. The execution sucked but I find freeing people from an evil dictator to be important to us as a people instead of just turning a blind eye because the person isn't effecting us at the moment.

I damn sure don't need to belong to some party to make myself feel like I'm on a team. If I need to feel that way, I'll join a bowling league or a flag football league. The Republicans are dicks but at least I know they are dicks. The Democrats are assholes who want to protray themselves as the good guy.

The Republicans do good, I'll applaud them. The Democrats do good, I'll applaud them. Neither one of them is any different and it's sad they try to make people believe they are. One is a party of bad ideas and the other is a party of no ideas.
