Do the p2p file sharing programs for OSX and the like have all of the same spyware that is present on PCs? I'm looking into a program called XFactor, but it's described as being "like Kazaa" and I don't want to deal with a crippled system especially since I'm not experienced troubleshooting on a Mac. Thanks-Jim

Aside from some macro viruses that operate with Microsoft Office, you effectively have nothing to be afraid of on a Mac from P2P viruses.

I reccomend Acqlite, it's a LimeWire client for Mac that is like Acquisition but without all the begging for money and the mean-assed attitude from the guy who makes Acquisition. Unfortunately, it's stopped in development, and the last version works but looks for an old version of Java, so you'll have to read their forums to read about going into the Terminal and making an alias of sorts to point it towards the right Java version.

But once you get it working, it works well.
