Randy Savage to come back!!! (Joy!)

Recommended Posts

I believe so. He finally took the time off to have the surgery in June of 1998.

Shawn Michaels has wrestled most of 2004 with a torn ACL.

Savage tore his ACL on March 30th of 1998. He was wrestling a dark match against Sting at a Saturday Night taping, and blew his knee out then. I don't think he tore it at Havoc, or he'd have taken the time off long before then.

I stand corrected. The point remains that it's possible, though. I never would have thought it either, but Shawn Michaels tore his ACL in April, I think, and kept wrestling.

You can move around ok without an ACL, you just need your knee really really kept tight for everything to be ok.

I wonder what Savage's excuse is, then, for being less mobile than Drew Bledsoe.

I would imagine the fact that he was a roided up freak by that point in his career would effect his mobility a lot.

I've gone through some Observers around HH '97, and there isn't anything in them about Savage tearing his ACL doing the leap. I can see Shawn gutting it out, because of his work ethic and pride, but I don't think Savage had that, at least not enough to wrestle for 8 months before getting the surgery. Savage had nothing major going on at the time, so it would have been the perfect time for him to get the surgery done. Plus, with a guarantee of $1m+, he'd have had no incentive to keep going when he could take the time off, and still get a fat wad of cash.

I'm ashamed to say that I have yet to watch the Hogan/Piper Cage Match from Havoc 97 (wait...thats probably a good thing), so in a while I'll get to see Savage nearly break his leg doing an elbow drop.

Randy Savage was said to have looked the smallest he has looked in years at Victory Road, and kept his jacket on the entire night.

Lord, I hope this doesn't lead to a Savage / Jarrett match for the title.

But it probably will.

Take a look at history...any 'free agent' guy that comes in always gets a title shot before the people that earn it. Raven, D'Lo, Hardy...and now Savage. But hopefully we will see Brown vs Jarrett: Six Months in the making!

Wow that means Wrestlemania XIV (March 29, 1998) is mobile Savage!

*You get optimistic about TNA and then you hear something like this. Randy Savage had a number of demands in order for him to grace them with his appearance, these included:

1) His own locker room

2) Bodyguards (Bryan Adams a.k.a Crush & Ron Harris) that TNA will pay $1000 each night for and walkie talkies for his bodyguards

3) Jimmy Hart cannot go near him

It's Randy Savage!! Why would they even bother?

I can see them going out fo their way for Hogan, who can still draw 500,000 fans from Alaska, but Savage!?

Jimmy Hart is still physically able to take a bump without breaking something. See also: Kevin Nash, except Hart can also walk.
