RVD DVD??

Recommended Posts

HHH made him look bad @ Unforgiven 02, then RVD almost killed Trips at the first EC match and the rest is history.

And you can't blame HHH for the problems. As I've said repeatedly, it's basic logic that in a match with RVD, you'd work on the leg, since he is a high-flyer who does a lot of kicks. HHH worked the match that made the most sense to work when facing RVD.

If RVD can't figure out how to make a match work while having to sell leg pain, that is his problem.

The only solution to this is to turn him heel, where he is looked upon to control the match (which is pretty frightening to imagine).

Thing is, I don't think a considerable amount of fans would pay to see him lose. Especially when your heel champions can do things RVD can't.

RVD's pops in WWE weren't novelty. Novelty pops are for guys like Hurricane and/or Goldust because they happen to say a funny line here and there. RVD's pops were because he was known, had a rep, and he was someone people wanted to see on top. The only "novelty" that wore off with the fans, was when they realized that there was no intention by the crew to push him, and he was just being used as a job toy for their big new star Lesnar at King of the Ring. RVD had tremendous heat up until the brand split when he was promptly buried and forgotten about. It is rare and in fact almost unheard of for a worker to continue to get the face heat RVD did while at the same time jobbing left and right. The inevitable happened and eventually people caught on that RVD was not going to get pushed, and THAT is when the heat started going down hill.

I think for the RVD DVD if Vince wants to be true to how it was when RVD first came onto the WWE scene, he will include the highlights of RVD outpopping The Rock when they were involved in a match. I mean, for someone from "the invasion" to out pop the Rock at that time was pretty amazing, especially with the Rocks uncanny ability to turn the crowd to his side at the flick of a finger.

The only thing that will help RVD at this point is a heel turn. RVD the Cocky Heel works. RVD the good guy who can't pin jobbers doesn't, and thats the one that I hate. RVD just doesn't work as good as a face, mainly because he will job more as a face and thus half-ass every match.

Actually, all he really needs is a program with somebody other than Rene Dupree. Why not have RVD/Mysterio vs. various tag teams on their quest for the Tag belts? Or, hey, have RVD go for the Cruiserweight title, since the limit is 230 lbs., and he's about 220. RVD vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. RVD vs. Paul London. RVD vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. RVD vs. Billy Kidman. RVD vs. Shannon Moore. None of them will be GREAT matches, but at least it will show some sort of push for him.

Oh, wait. That would also mean pushing people in the Cruiser division outside of Rey. Shucks.

RVD in the Cruiserweight division is even worse. The Cruiserweight division is stone cold dead, and signing every possible Lightweight/Cruiserweight/Luchadore won't help considering this company couldn't fucking push Ultimo Dragon properly.
