Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I'd blow you for an iPod.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I'd blow you for an iPod. That would be a win-win for you. I don't see how I'd benefit?
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I'd let you play with it now and then.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I'd let you play with it now and then. My own cock? These overtones are making me barf.
Guest Shutterspeed Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Weren't we talking about iPods?
Jobber of the Week Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Yay, I guess. I don't get out of the house much so I've used it more as a portable hard drive between machines, but there have been long waits in doctor's offices and car trips where it's useful. Also, portable audiobooks.
Alro Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 Yay. You've got thousands of songs at your disposal. Plus it eliminates dragging CDs everywhere you go. I've gotten so use to mine I don't think I could go back to swapping CDs in and out of my changer.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 What about the fact that the battery only chrages 500 times before frying? Doesn't that leave you without a useful machine?
Jobber of the Week Posted November 14, 2004 Report Posted November 14, 2004 What about the fact that the battery only chrages 500 times before frying? Doesn't that leave you without a useful machine? Myth. http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthrea...?threadid=19556 Basically, that 500 is only if you ran it from fully charged to fully empty every single time with no in-between. NiCad batteries (used in a lot of other devices) are built in mind that you're sometimes charging when the battery isn't completely drained and sometimes you don't charge all the way. They'll last longer than you think because you don't constantly charge from 0% to 100%.
tominator89 Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 My take on this topic: If I were to receive an iPOD as a gift, then great. If not, I'd NEVER pay for one with my own money. Portable MP3 players are very convenient, however, the iPOD is simply a trendy little toy. For anyone who is seriously interested in an MP3 player, I'd recommend researching rival brandnames. The iPOD is all about name recognition; they are terribly overpriced. Granted, I know a few people who love their iPOD, but I'm always quick to remind them how much they could have saved by buying, say, a Creative Labs model. Just my opinion.
EricMM Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Like previously mentioned: They're cute, yay. They're overpriced, nay. Their batteries are shitty, nay. Therefore: If someone gave me one, I'd use it. If I had to buy an MP3 player, I wouldn't be getting an iPOD. I've got a Creative Nomad, and it's great, for probably less than 200 dollars now.
Lil' Bitch Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Can you get an adapter to play your IPODs through your car system?
Alro Posted November 22, 2004 Report Posted November 22, 2004 Can you get an adapter to play your IPODs through your car system? Yes. There are two types. 1) The cassette adapter with the 1/8 inch plug that goes in the headphone jack. 2) A low power radio transmitter that allows you to listen on a radio frequency. I use the cassette adapter.
