therealworldschampion Posted November 16, 2004 Report Posted November 16, 2004 Because 35 of those steals, apparently, came with noone on and Thome up to bat. But but but Howard Eskin says that he doesn't have any hustle!! How can he be wrong?? I mean this is the same man that said that the Phillies were not going to get Billy Wagner and that there was "no chance" that Terrell Owens was coming to the Eagles!!
Precious Roy Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I'm still trying to figure out how the hell the Giants contended for the playoffs. And San Fran's next best hitters after Bonds (Grissom, Feliz) are of about equal value to Reggie Sanders, an afterthought in STL's offense. Saying that any one of Rolen, Edmonds or Pujols were of equal value to their team as Bonds was is absurd. Swap one of them for Bonds and San Fran would have been out of the race by July.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Barry Bonds. Essentially, the Giants had Bonds reaching base 60% of the time, and while they had no impact hitters, they also had few holes.
