MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2004 Just a question on the ethics of posting non spoilers: If a match is made for later that night, wouldn't posting that match be considered a spoiler of sorts? Not so much as in this week's SD, but if Teddy Long booked a WWE Title Match as the ME of the night at the top of the show, would posting what the match is be considered a spoiler since it wasn't booked until after the show started? EDITED Not trying to start anything, I'm just curious.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2004 I edited it, though I'm not sure exactly what the rules are...Mods?
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 17, 2004 Listing a match isn't really a spoiler. It gives someone a chance to watch the show for a big match, instead of being in the dark on it and kicking themselves for not seeing it. As long as it's not like a Mystery Opponent type thing, I don't see anything wrong.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2004 I wouldn't think it would be a spoiler if say Long booked a WWE title match at the top of the show between JBL and Booker T. But I DO think it would be a spoiler if he booked a WWE title match between JBL and a mystery opponent who turned out to be a returning Rikishi or something like that. That's how I see it. Though I doubt anyone is going to watch the show to see the guy Kurt Angle ends up wrestling, so this week's Smackdown isn't a big deal in that way. I wasn't sure how to post TNA listings a few weeks ago though when the main event was Styles/Hardy vs. Jarrett/Petey but there was an oncard angle where Hardy got attacked and Killings was put in his spot. How do you list it then?
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted November 17, 2004 Thats a tough one...best judgment will either go the route of... a. The original match in question b. wrestler A & substitution for Jeff Hardy (without saying who) c. Wrestler A & the person replacing Hardy period I'd probably go with A, because someone will probably bitch about knowing that someones taking so-and-sos place. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted November 17, 2004 1) Billy Kidman vs. Chavo Guerrero...looks pretty good 2) Heidenreich vs. Charlie Haas...I don't think Charlie can carry John to a watchable match. Usual squash. 3) Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree vs. RVD and Rey Misterio (non title)...the Smackdown titles are so far down the crapper right now I always forget who the champs are till someone tells me. They're the champs and I can't even remember the last time they were on. Could be a watchable match at best. 4) Kurt Angle does a "hometown challenge"...meh 5) Carlito vs. John Cena (US title)...could care less really. I'm starting to like Carlito, but I hate guys getting pushed to main events without doing anything, and I'm pretty tired of Cena. Looks like another less than great Smackdown.
