Bored Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 National television schedule. Last full week of the college football season yet not as much television coverage as usual this week for whatever reason. Weird ABC scheduling this week as it appears most of the country will be split between the two early games (with most probably getting Michigan/Ohio State) and I'm guessing just the Pacific Northwest will get stuck with the late Apple Cup game. FSN also appears to have regional scheduling this week with their early game with most of the country getting the Oklahoma game. THURSDAY Maryland at #15 Virginia Tech, 7:45/4:45 PM, ESPN SATURDAY Wake Forest at #12 Miami, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN Michigan State at Penn State, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN2 #2 Oklahoma at Baylor, Noon/9:00 AM, FSN* Iowa State at Kansas State, Noon/9:00 AM, FSN* #7 Michigan at Ohio State, 1:00 PM/10:00 AM, ABC* #19 Virginia at Georgia Tech, 1:00 PM/10:00 AM, ABC* #3 Auburn at Alabama, 3:30/12:30 PM, CBS Stanford at #4 California, 3:30/12:30 PM, FSN #13 Wisconsin at #18 Iowa, 4:30/1:30 PM, ESPN BYU at #6 Utah, 7:00/4:00 PM, ESPN Washington at Washington State, 7:00/4:00 PM, ABC* Oregon at Oregon State, 7:00/4:00 PM, FSN Florida at #8 Florida State, 7:45/4:45 PM, ESPN
iggymcfly Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 The Apple Cup's on ABC? I guess I'll have to try and get my drunk ass on television.
Bored Posted November 19, 2004 Author Report Posted November 19, 2004 Virginia Tech 55, Maryland 6. Oof. Va Tech is about the only team in the ACC that's exceeded expectations this year.
Damaramu Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Damn....it's rivalry week and I don't get a rivalry to watch. OU's AD figured that OU has the best chance to lose to OSU every year b/c they beat us twice in a row. So he moved the Bedlam series to earlier in the season so if we lost it it wouldn't destroy all hopes of a BCS bowl. So now I'm stuck with no rivalry when everyone else gets one.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Virginia Tech 55, Maryland 6. Oof. Va Tech is about the only team in the ACC that's exceeded expectations this year. By contrast, look how huge Maryland has dropped. Yikes. I was thinking they might have a chance at sneaking into a bowl, but so much for that. From three 10 win seasons to not even getting bowl-eligible. Ouch. Tech has been a huge surprise. The rivalry game with UVA and the season-ender against Miami should be great match-ups.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 Michigan/OSU is probably going to be a huge disappointment this year. OSU's ineptness on offense is just sad.
Damaramu Posted November 19, 2004 Report Posted November 19, 2004 I remember being hyped for Michigan/OSU last season based on all the implications it had. This season.....not so much.
Gert T Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I don't think it'll be a blowout, remember this is Henne's first trip to the Horseshoe. I do think OSU's offensive ineptitude will be the difference, and Michigan wins, unless Ted Ginn Jr. runs about 4 punts back. I really wish Wisconsin had won last week, so both games had much more meaning, I think Wisconsin-Iowa will be a great game, if Wisconsin isn't down from the loss.
Bored Posted November 20, 2004 Author Report Posted November 20, 2004 Hmmm might have a football game in Columbus. Ohio State drives 99 yards to tie the game at 14.
Guest MikeSC Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Well, the Gamecocks have gotten a little pressure on Whitehurst thus far --- but they can't run the ball whatsoever. Meanwhile, Clemson is running at will. Not a great season ender for the retiring Holtz. -=Mike
Art Sandusky Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 We've got Virginia/Georgia Tech instead of Michigan/OSU. Incredible.
Guest MikeSC Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Nice brawl at USC v Clemson. Incredibly ugly. -=Mike
Damaramu Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I missed a brawl!? Damn. I wonder if FSU and Florida are going to get into it later.
Guest MikeSC Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I missed a brawl!? Damn. I wonder if FSU and Florida are going to get into it later. Oh, it's STILL going on. -=Mike ...Shame the Cocks had to both play like total shits and act like total pricks in Lou's last game. And the Carolina players are fighting amongst themselves now...
Guest MikeSC Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 And, bizarrely, NOBODY was tossed out of the game for this --- including Daccus Turman, who hasn't done a damned thing today running full bore without his helmet on to cheapshot a Clemson player in the end zone. All started when a Clemson player punches Syvelle Newton when he was already down. -=Mike
Slayer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Sure is a lot of brawling going on these last 24 hours Maybe people are getting ready for Black Friday sales...
Bored Posted November 20, 2004 Author Report Posted November 20, 2004 Shame the Cocks had to both play like total shits and act like total pricks in Lou's last game. Cocks acting like pricks...imagine that? South Carolina is bowl eligible so Lou has one more game.
Slayer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 This OSU-Michigan game is pissing me off... all they need to do is win to go to the Rose Bowl. Losing a bid to the Rose Bowl via OSU = Wolverine fan nightmare
Guest MikeSC Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Shame the Cocks had to both play like total shits and act like total pricks in Lou's last game. Cocks acting like pricks...imagine that? South Carolina is bowl eligible so Lou has one more game. I almost hope Lou says they won't go to one. His team has played like utter shit for weeks now (they've given up somewhere near 40 ppg over the past month or so) and this performance was disgraceful. They play like zombies --- EXCEPT when nearly starting a fight to start the game and THEN when brawling late. Holtz' last regular season game was an embarrassment and the man deserves much, much better. I hope Spurrier cuts some of the hotheads (if he's a senior, Matthew Thomas should not be back) when he comes in. -=Mike
Bored Posted November 20, 2004 Author Report Posted November 20, 2004 The Big Game will kick off pretty soon. Now there is that part of me that knows for the greater good of the Pac-10, Cal needs to win. If Cal were upset that would knock them out of the BCS and likely knock the Pac-10 out of their traditional spot in the Rose Bowl, assuming USC goes to the Orange Bowl. It would also hurt USC's case as they would no longer hold a win over the top ranked one-loss team in the country. All that being said...fuck Cal. They've never been to a Rose Bowl in my lifetime and I hope they never do. I'd love nothing more than to watch Stanford knock them into the Holiday Bowl. Not that the Cardinal stand much of a chance today.
Slayer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Fuck, another OSU TD, and Michigan's Rose Bowl hopes are fading
Slayer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 FUCK, goal line interception by OSU... definitely a bad throw by Henne
Guest Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I think Alabama is going to beat Auburn and our BCS talk will mean nothing.
AlwaysPissedOff Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 As a Bama fan, I certainly hope that is the case... C'mon Pennington, don't botch this for us.
Slayer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 Motherfucker Michigan went 8-2 against Cooper, but has gone 1-3 against Tressell That program can't die soon enough, for all I care
Boner Kawanger Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 As a Bama fan, I certainly hope that is the case... C'mon Pennington, don't botch this for us. I always forget you're from Alabama/a Bama fan. I'd say we're doing alright so far, all things considered. We can't risk throwing the ball, though. If we had a seasoned QB, we'd be owning this game.
Bored Posted November 20, 2004 Author Report Posted November 20, 2004 *smacks head* Oh ya Wisconsin will have two losses in conference and Iowa will be tied with Michigan. Nevermind.

I know, man. If Brodie was playing, we'd have at least 8 wins this season. At least I cna take solice in knowing that we'll be the best team in the SEC next year since Georgia and Auburn are losing a shitload of talent due to graduation(but dammit... I don't want Wesley Britt to graduate this year... :::: cries :::.
Slayer Posted November 20, 2004 Report Posted November 20, 2004 I dunno why, but I just can't get into the "big" rivalry of Alabama/Auburn It's not because I'm not a big SEC guy, since I can get into other rivalries from there (e.g. Tenn/Florida), but I just don't feel this one at all
