Guest MikeSC Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Caught the tail end of the show. Lovely of them to have Hall, Nash, and JJ maul 6 X Division guys easily. They learned their lessons from WCW well. And are they sticking Savage in the ME at TP? I thought Brown was in the ME. -=Mike
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Lovely of Nash to throw Amazing Red into the production truck and how can you forget Nash working the announcing table. The only thing missing from the opening Jeff Jarret squash match was the nWo black & white video footage and the masked ref.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Funny, as I totally forgot that Impact was even on today. I don't know if they are going to put Savage in the ME or not. After hearing that he was being brought in, I haven't heard anything else about him.

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 Someone has to be able to sue Jerry Jarrett for this blatant theft.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 What theft, it was all Nash's orginal ideas to begin with. Nash saved WCW and he will do the same with TNA.

Fro 0 Report post Posted November 19, 2004 I enjoyed this show... it was like watching a well-booked Nitro except it moved at "Crash TV" pace. I quit expecting to see great 30-minute matches from this show a long time ago. Nash and Hall acted like they actually enjoyed being there this week which helped. Crowd was way into DDP and Savage being there. Okay, Johnny B. Badd looked pretty bad, I admit that, but Raven was able to pull something out of him. Big and hot crowd this week at the tapings... they're doing something right. It's been so long since those NWO bits were done well that it felt fresh... heck, it's been 8 years since the lawn dart. I'm also really impressed at how well TNA builds up their feuds for the PPV, comparing it to the mess that's WWE, and most guys seem to have some sort of feud or reason for being there. I don't see how it's going to kill their show to have an actual interesting main event angle (which could put over AJ and Hardy pretty big). Should be a better match than Hardy v.s. Jarrett as well. And Hall/Jarrett/Nash only took out Garza, Siaki, Dutt, and Shark Boy, which is four X-Division guys last time I checked. I believe one of Kash/Kazarian/Shane may have gotten one of the four too during that segment.

starvenger 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 I enjoyed this show... it was like watching a well-booked Nitro except it moved at "Crash TV" pace. I quit expecting to see great 30-minute matches from this show a long time ago. Well, I'll give you the Nitro-at-crash-TV pace. Except that it wasn't well-booked IMO. It was booked so that everything revolved around the nW... er Kings of Wrestling. Which I haven't seen since maybe Raw. Except Jolly Jeff Jarrett isn't HHH, Nash isn't DAVE, and Hall... well Hall is probably equal to Flair at this stage of Ric's career. Okay, Johnny B. Badd looked pretty bad, I admit that, but Raven was able to pull something out of him. It's kinda sad to say this, but Mero didn't look fruity enough. I think it'd be a good if you give him the "delusional heel that thinks he's a face" gimmick though, and leave him in the midcard. The DDP thing seems like a Raven-booked angle for some reason. I didn't mind DDP, actually, since he wasn't a part of almost every segment. I'm also really impressed at how well TNA builds up their feuds for the PPV, comparing it to the mess that's WWE, and most guys seem to have some sort of feud or reason for being there. If you mean how they actually look more than one PPV ahead, then yes. Although booking only short term for Savage may be a good idea, and even then, have Monty available to step in when Savage does flake out. I don't see how it's going to kill their show to have an actual interesting main event angle (which could put over AJ and Hardy pretty big). Should be a better match than Hardy v.s. Jarrett as well. The main event will only get AJ and Hardy over if they're booked strongly. Which they probably won't. I'm predicting that they get used as the Outsiders' bitches and that Savage (after doing basically nothing) pins Hall for the victory. I hope that I'm wrong and you're right though.
