Eclipse 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 There is this button that automatically turns off the entire PC on this keyboard I have. Well...the button is so close to the Enter key, that sometimes, it slips and I turn off the PC. Is there a way that I can turn off that function on the keyboard? The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 My keyboard's hot keys are specially installed as a program seperate from the regular keyboard. They came with an installation CD and all. Maybe yours is the same and you can just uninstall the hotkeys.
Eclipse 0 Report post Posted November 20, 2004 The keyboard came with a floppy disk. But, in the directions, it said if you have XP, it will auto detect it. That's what it did, and as soon as I first tested the button, it powered the PC down.
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Report post Posted November 20, 2004 Try this: Control Panel > Power Options > Advanced tab. Change all the options for Power Buttons to either "Do Nothing" or "Ask me what to do." Failing that, download TweakUI from Microsoft. After it's installed, go to Explorer > Command Keys, you should be able to reprogram it. Get TweakUI anyway.
