World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.

 

World Wrestling Entertainment Canada, Inc. is an integrated media and entertainment company, principally engaged in the development, production and marketing of television programming, pay-per-view programming, live events, and the licensing and sale of branded consumer products featuring our highly successful WWE brand.

 

We are recruiting for the volunteer position of WWE Underground Ambassador.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Develop a plan aimed at raising awareness of World Wrestling Entertainment, its brand and products throughout their campus community.

Organize meetings and events for WWE fans that also attract the attention of other potential wrestling enthusiasts.

Communicate with and provide information updates to a designated WWE staff member.

Support and participate in WWE sponsored promotional events.

Act as a link between World Wrestling Entertainment Canada and their school.

Write and submit a report upon completion of the project.

 

Qualifications:

 

Must be a student enrolled at a post secondary institution in Canada .

Experience in marketing, public relations, event planning and or sports management would be an asset.

Understanding of WWE and its product a definite asset.

 

Rewards:

 

Ambassadors will receive a $500 honorarium upon the successful completion of a set list of tasks and criteria.

To qualify for the above mentioned honorarium, Ambassadors will be required to successfully complete a set of tasks which will be outlined for them by the WWE Underground Project Manager. These tasks will all be related to the overall goal of creating excitement and increasing awareness of the WWE brand on campus.

Ambassadors will also be eligible to earn a coveted spot in our Canadian office as either a Marketing, PR or Sales intern, and a $5,000 honorarium.

To qualify for the above mentioned internship and honorarium, Ambassadors will be judged and a winner selected. The Ambassador selected will have demonstrated their ability to think outside of the box by planning and executing a program or event on campus that will ensure a permanent spot for WWE in their campus community.

Interested candidates are asked to please submit their resume and covering letter along with a response to the following scenario.

 

In a format of your choice - video, essay, proposal or creative sample - tell us how, in your role as Underground Ambassador, you plan to increase your school’s awareness of WWE. Give specific examples of the events and approaches that you would use to accomplish this task. As well, don’t forget to tell us what skills you possess and the ways in which they will help to achieve your plan. We are looking for creativity and originality of ideas.

 

Please ensure that all items submitted are clearly labeled with your name, school name and WWE Underground.

Items submitted will not be returned.

Students from all years are welcome to apply.

Only those selected for interviews will be contacted

While it sounds interesting, this just isn't for me. I have no experience or training in marketing or public relations and have no idea what I would do. They seem to be looking for a proactive "idea man", and that's something I'm just not. But I figured someone here might be interested in this, so here ya go.

This is a stupid idea. They need to stop writing about raping corpses and having racists beating minorities before they can expect anyone to willingly market for them.
