Matt Sydal

I'm just wondering, i've been watching a lot of IWA MS as of late, why don't more people pimp Matt Sydal? He's never in a bad match and on quite a few occasions steals the show, he's got a great Ricky Morton-esque sort of babyface charisma about him, in just every way he looks like a star. Yet, Sydal seems to be one of the more ignored guys on the indy scene right now.

Anyone else think Sydal is underrated?

Sydal's very good. I think he's seen as "less" than some other stars because of the whole "he's a flippity floppity cruiserweight" mentality some people have. But I think he's very good.

He's far from being a superstar. He's a really great worker with TONS of potential and I feel he's getting the right kind of praise for a guy his level. Maybe in 2 or 3 years he'll be one the of the best indy workers out there along with American Dragon and Chris Hero.

I don't have much of a opinion of him; as I have only seem a small handful of him from ROH (it's the only Indy i follow) but He has charisma and has a good feel for the ring. He might be hampered by his size but in a year or so, with more time under his belt he could be one of bigger names.

Him and Styles at IWA STBB5 was my MOTY, and i heard they had 2 matches just as good during one of IWAs quad shots

In a way, he reminds me of a younger Paul London. He needs one high-profile match in ROH, and he will be more pimped.

Maybe he's a college guy and just isn't as easily available to travel the country, he's pretty young after all. And a hell of a worker too.

He does get pimped from the guys who like and watch the new style of indy crusier guys. Sydal for his expierence is good, but he is still very green, and flippy. He needs to tone it down, all his matches with AJ prove this. They start off nicely, but by the end Sydal is doing all this crazy shit. It's an overkill, he needs to work on the way that times his moves. I don't think he will ever be on the level of Danielson. In a few years though, he will become the next AJ Styles if he continues to improve at the rest that he is improving.
