When I was playing NFL 2K3 for a long time, I would usually win pretty much every game. But that trend stopped happening when all of the known players retired, and the league consisted of players generated by the game.

I generally didn't do so well, I think I made the Super Bowl once out of the 5 seasons I played just with those guys. I had the highest rated RB in the entire game, but my O Line was absolutley horrible. I had to rely on my QB to get little quick passes to said RB and pray he doesn't get hurt. It was interesting for a few games, but got old realy quick.

Did you actually play enough seasons for all those players to retire or did you sim? I love my sports games, but due to the always-growing list of games I own occupying my time along with the fact that I sadly have to do other stuff not involving games- and the fact that I stop playing a sports title when the new one comes out- I generally never play more than 1-2 seasons even though I mean to.

I also only sim for fun since it seems that I can have the highest rated team in the league and still suffer through a horrendous losing season every time.

I generally played the majority of the seasons. I only simmed a few games, and encountered some injury problems.

On average, I played two games a day, and played the game for a solid year. So it took a while for the known players to disappear.
