The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2004 So supposedly if you're new to RoH, it's best to start with the Reborn shows or whatever from April. Well I don't think many people, including myself, have enough money to buy all the tapes from then to now to get the best matches. It would cost a hell of a lot in shipping to Canada. So what are the best shows since then? If it's going to be like mothershitting $35 per tape, I want several entertaining and hard hitting matches per show. JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2004 I'd go with: -Generation Next -World Title Classic if you want to see Punk vs. Joe's first 60-minute match, if not then skip it -Survival of the Fittest -Death Before Dishonor 2 Night 2 From there, skip August's shows and the 9/11 show, and wait for 10/2, 10/15, and 10/16 to come out on DVD, or get them on VHS if you want. Just my opinion.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2004 Oh, you probably know this, but ROH is doing a 20% off sale until Thursday night, so now would be a good time to order.

Michrome 0 Report post Posted December 1, 2004 It's pretty easy to find traders, but it's nice to support the company if you want the good matches to keep rolling. 4/24 for Danielson-Cide and the main. Danielson-Cide is a darkhorse motyc. 5/22 is the birth of Gen Next and is must-see for that angle, the good steamboat-punk angle, and the strong 8-man tag. You need 6/12 for the first Joe-Punk alone, as their series is probably what will be remembered from ROH 2004. The second match is way better, but this is still good and should be seen. 6/24 for the first Dragon-Aries, but there isnt much else worth seeing on it. 7/24 is a tremendous overall show, top to bottom awesome. 7/23 is very good too, I reccomend getting both shows of this weekend, the best weekend of wrestling anywhere this year. 8/7 is up to you. It has the 75 minute match if you like that kind of stuff. If not, pass on this. 10/2 is a great show, get this. 10/15 is a really strong undercard with weak mains, rare for roh. You can pass on this, but it's stilla very fun show. 10/16 is must-see for Joe-Punk II, MOTY all the way. Rest of the stuff is just icing on the cake. Guest SoZe Report post Posted December 1, 2004 Funk, I know someone who can hook you up. PM me if you are interested. Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who got into ROH from tape traders - go ahead and get a few shows from the traders if you want to start with. But if you really enjoy what you're seeing after that, go ahead and support the company and buy directly from them. I got my first few ROH shows from traders, but after ROH completion, I became a true fan of the company, and decided that I needed to contribute. After that, I've put my money into the promotion. I know bootlegs are a steal, and you can save some money, but if everyone bootleged, they're wouldn't be any more great wrestling matches happening on the indy scene. Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted December 2, 2004 I understand that everyone should buy the tapes directly from ROH themselves. I also understand that if some people could see their product at a price they see more acceptable then they might buy more from ROH as well. I encourage most to buy from ROH, buy shirts, buy tapes/DVD's, ROH tickets, and everything else to support the company. It helps their product if people buy from them..............buy I do not see a problem getting them from bootleggers to at least start........or if you can't afford them.
