therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Another TD for Oklahoma. I think they should just replace Colorado with Nebraska just so maybe we can see Callahan flip out again.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 THERE IS NO FUCKING WAY WE KEEP DOING THIS TO OURSELVES Clausen actually knows how to throw a fucking ball now, and we can't even buy some forward progress.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Goddammit. I saw that throw had too much air under it. For the best though. Had he underthrown that, one of the two dudes covering him would have intercepted it.
SilverPhoenix 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I don't know what is more amazing. The fact that Auburn hasn't run up the score 42 - 21 with all the Yellow Flags Tennessee is just getting thrown at them? Or that Tennessee is still in this thing? (I hope Tennessee pulls off the upset. I want to see the collective fanbase of Auburn cry.) And the Big 12 Game, I only have 3 words. What the fuck? I would think that Colorado would at least SHOW UP. If this keeps up, they might as well Forefit. I hope the North has SOMEONE, ANYONE that's going to be better next year, or you might see Texas move to destroy the divisions.

It's because the plays we haven't gotten penalties in the second half have (for the most part) been resoundingly good on our part.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 These penalties are just getting out of hand now. 12 penalties for 96 yards thus far for Tennessee.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 WHERE'S THAT AWESOME RUN DEFENSE NOW MOTHERFUCKERS 31-28. Whattaconference. I think it decided to stay at the hotel with the Tennessee pass defense. 38-28, the SEC is quite simply the hardest conference in 2004 and it's screwed. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I also had a feeling this would turn into a shootout earlier.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 38-28, the SEC is quite simply the hardest conference in 2004 and it's screwed. Yup, it's times like these when I'm beaming to see such a great game put on a national stage in prime time like this.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Well with the Vols giving the Tigers a run and the Buffs deciding they apparently would rather spend more time wondering what time the IHOP closes than play football, it looks like the Sooners will get their second straight chance to win a National Championship. They lose this year and I doubt VERY highly that the voters even look at them next season if we have another one of these three way ties.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Seems like the BCS is finally going to die the terrible death it deserves. Hell, no. If we've learned anything over the years, it's that the BCS thrives on controversy. They LOVED last year's debacle, because it meant everyone was talking about college football. I believe they subscribe to the Vince McMahon school of thought regarding media coverage: "Bad publicity is better than no publicity."
teke184 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 The SEC is going to be a complete war next year, especially the SEC East. With Tenneessee still a young team, Florida extrememly talented, Georgia still in the mix, and Spurrier at South Carolina, it's going to be a lot of fun there next year. The whole SEC will be interesting. LSU will only lose about 4 starters, mainly from the defense, returns all of their talented RBs and WRs, and has a better schedule next year than they had this year. (They have Tennessee, Florida, and Auburn at home instead of the latter two plus Georgia on the road like this year) Mississippi State should pull itself out of the basement now that it has a real coach. The question is how well Croom recruits considering he was left with a pretty bare cabinet of talent. Alabama should be pulling itself together after several years of turmoil. If not, Shula better pack his bags. Auburn may lose Cadillac and others, but Tuberville is a good coach and they'll be able to reload and still compete, although not dominate. Arkansas should hopefully reload next year, although Houston Nutt better hope that he recruits a better level of character this time around. (Lots of Razorback players have been in severe legal trouble over the past few years) The only teams that should be completely out of the SEC title hunt next year are perennial cellar-dwellars Kentucky and Vanderbilt in addition to Ole Miss. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Ok, now here is where Auburn is in dangerous territory. They need another touchdown, they need to run up the score. But if they try it, they risk a turnover and allowing the Vols back into the game. However, if they don't score and end up with a controlling win then no chance they gain votes. So what should the Tigers do? Run it up or just run it out?
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Well, Tennessee fails to convert a fourth down, and barring a fumble or something the game's over. Clausen's inaccuracy ended up being our fatal flaw. Hey, if Auburn fails to score again, they didn't cover the spread. I told everyone not to put them down by that much. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Everyone will say that Auburn has no place in the Orange Bowl because they had a hard time with their opponent. Let's ignore that they had the hardest opponent by FAR of the three undefeateds. Also, I'll say it now: Had Erik Ainge been playing, this would have been a Tennessee win. teke184 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Cal vs. Southern Miss is now 17-10 in Cal's favor. If nothing else, this will hurt Cal's computer rankings and their voting compared to Texas. Don't know if it will move them out of the top 6 though.

Let's ignore that they had the hardest opponent by FAR of the three undefeateds. Also, I'll say it now: Had Erik Ainge been playing, this would have been a Tennessee win. If anyone says that, they are mentally unstable. The problem this year is all three teams had business being in the game. If anyone points to the "dominating" win over Colorado as a reason Oklahoma deserves to be in over Auburn, they are unstable as well. All three teams deserved the shot to go for it. Instead, for the second straight season we have a team screwed. Only this year, the title won't be split.
Bored 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 If Cal wins it's not looking like they will win big. With Mack Brown's whining don't be shocked if enough coaches change their votes to move Texas ahead of Cal.

If nothing else, this will hurt Cal's computer rankings and their voting compared to Texas. Don't know if it will move them out of the top 6 though. I will stick to my point that as long as Cal does not lose, they should be in the BCS over Texas, as they were one incomplete pass away from being undefeated, while Mack Brown is pleading to voters to ignore that a 4 year old could probably outcoach him in a big game. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I also think that the Rose Bowl is going to be awfully pissed if Cal wins and Texas passes them. So will Utah, cause they'll be screwed out of a major bowl bid.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I thought Utah would be in the top 6 no matter what happens here? Not enough spots in the BCS bowls for all three teams. You have VT, PITT and MICH all getting automatic bids. You have 8 spots One of the at large teams is getting bumped out of the BCS. Right now, expect: Oklahoma vs USC Auburn vs Va Tech Michigan vs Cal Pitt vs Texas/Utah If Texas goes to the Rose Bowl, no chance in hell that CAL won't be playing Pitt. Bored 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 For the last time, there is absolutely, 100%, no chance, nada, zippo that Utah will not be in a BCS bowl. They are guarenteed a spot. The only spot in doubt at the moment is between Cal and Texas.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 Interesting note, if Texas does get into the BCS and goes to the Rose Bowl, it will be the first time ever that they will play Michigan.
