Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 I downloaded it and burned it to a VCD, but I haven't watched it yet. I was hoping that it would open up somewhere around here, but I doubt It'll ever hit theaters in my area. I plan to watch it pretty soon here at home. I will say this though, Christian Bale looks totally disgusting in this film. He lost around 70 pounds for this role I do believe, and got to the point where he was just about a skeleton. I can't believe that some actors are so dedicated to their art, that they allow their body to truly be affected. You can't help but to really respect actors like this. I remember reading that Laird Cregar (a really solid 300 lb. actor from the 40s) lost about 100 lbs. for a role in the movie Hangover Square. The weight loss was so sudden however that he had a heart attack and died. Also, why risk your personal health over a movie that few people are going to see or give a shit about? Bale's probably got a 100 different health gurus, personal trainers, physicians and chefs looking after him to make sure nothing seriously wrong is happening.
