I like "The Stars Of Track And Field". It was a long time before I even heard the rest of the album because I would listen to that on repeat.

I always thought this band was good, but nothing extraordinary. For the longest time, "Lazy Line..." had little effect on me, until, that is, the other day, when the "you will have a boy tonight" line was stuck in my head. I couldn't even remember what it was at first, but once I recalled it I put it on and BAM. Heaven.

I used to like that song "Step Into My Office, Baby" until my station cohorts played the shit out of it when it was in rotation a year ago. It was college radio's "Hey Ya," really. And we played that one a lot, too.

I love Belle & Sebastian. Their new single, "Your Cover's Blown," is definately worth a listen.

 

Lazy Line Painter Jane is a great song, but it's probably not my favorite. It's definately up there though.

That last album was the best thing they'd done since If You're Feeling Sinister. In all seriousness, they're in really rare company as a current band that I care even the slightest bit about.

This band still isn't great outside of "Lazy Line Painter Jane," however. I prefer the less fey, but still wimpy, indie pop of the Go-Betweens.

And hey, I'm aware the two don't sound much alike, but I'm listening to Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express right now, and "Head Full of Steam" is so great.
