Check this out. I personally think he should be banned. I mean he didn't not compete b/c of his supposed "illness" he didn't compete because his ass was tossed off of the team.

He's fucking gotten drunk and beat someone up 3 times. Including sending his High School friend to the hospital at the beginning of this season!

So basically the NCAA is now deciding that alcoholism and anger issues are grounds for medical redshirt.

I think this is a dangerous precedent b/c now people can get angry or drunk and kick someone's ass get kicked off the team say that they made a mistake and apply for medical redshirt.

And what's with giving players who've been kicked off the team another chance? I suppose he's been granted the extra year but I guess it's Stoops' decision to allow him back on the team?

I just don't like this precedent.

Nobody cares about OU here that much except for you, and no I don't feel like having an argument with you about it.

Umm....this thread isn't about OU.

This thread is about the NCAA allowing a player who was kicked off of a team for being an angry drunk to come back. They decided that alcoholism and anger managment issues were grounds for a medical redshirt.

I'm trying to see if anyone agrees with this decision by the NCAA. Quit trolling.

Eh, I don't think it matters. USC should mop the floor with OU. And for the record, I can't stand USC.

Why are you trolling?

This has nothing to do with OU. The guy won't even get to play this year if he gets to play at all.

Stop fucking trolling people. You all want me to cool it with OU but you keep starting shit. Stop it.

This is about the precedent the NCAA set. Jesus christ.

Okay. I'll comment on it. I think its shit that Stoops is letting Dvoracek back on the team, but its the nature of the beast. Dvoracek is a good Defensive Tackle, and gives them the best chance to win. Bullshit? Yes. Surprising? No.

Did people not read what Sass said?

No baiting Damaramu.

Verne you're quit the college fb fan. What do you think about this? Do you think alcoholism and anger managment are grounds for a medical redshirt? Especially after someone was tossed off of the team?

Alcoholism is a sad excuse for a medical redshirt. Again, the only reason he's getting this treatment is because he's a top player at DT.

Stoops never said he was letting Dusty back on the team. The NCAA just said he could play an extra year b/c he was "injured" for being a fucking alcoholic with anger issues.

I think the NCAA made a bullshit call.

On top of that this is after the Big XII said no!

Yeah, that is bullshit. My mistake on Stoops letting him back on the team. Alcoholism is a disease, but if this guy's got anger issues, the last thing he should be doing is playing a sport where its all about contact. I think he should not be allowed on the team until he can prove he's conquered both the alcohol and abuse problems. Business is business, though.

I honestly don't think Stoops will allow him back on the team. He's big on being a family man and having values or something and he generally sticks to his guns on something like this.

I think if anything Dusty will have to check into rehab over the summer if he wants back on. I think Stoops should send his ass to rehab. Make him pay for the detox himself too.

Still now that the NCAA has said it can happen they should be allowed to grant the medical redshirts to anybody that gets drunk and tossed off of a team.

I think it's fine if the NCAA wants to classify a player with a substance abuse has being considered a medical redshirt. With that said, each case and circumstances should be decided by the school itself. In reguards to Dvorak, who has a history of violence. I think it's wrong that Stoops is allowing him to play.It looks bad for OU to immediatley reinstate a player kicked off the team, for a violent incident the moment the NCAA reinstates him. With that being said, I wonder if OU wanted to boot Dvorak, or if their hand was forced by the NCAA? Know Stoops might say, he's been punished enough. However, it does set a bad precedent and Stoops might want to stand firm.

If the NCAA allowed him a medical redshirt, and Stoops doesn't take him back, it won't really matter; he'll just transfer elsewhere and get playing time. College football is a big money business, and the guy has talent, so he'll be playing somewhere, if not back at OU.

Posted

Well Verne you said that Stoops told him he could play again. Stoops hasn't decided if he can play yet.

I honestly think he should be forced to go through detox.

I mean I guess the NCAA wants to give everyone a second chance but honestly this is like his 3rd or 4th chance.

I think it's pretty shitty that he can get a medical redshirt for being a drunken piece of shit yet you can get the book thrown at you if the coach buys you a candy bar.

Hell yeah I agree.

I remember when OU played in the Great Alaska Shootout. A couple players got arrested for using fake ID's or something to try to get into a club and got their asses thrown in jail. Coach Kelvin Sampson paid the bail so they didn't have to spend the night in jail and they could leave on time and he may be in trouble for that!

The NCAA is to hard on this money issue.

I may be a little bit biased though b/c I hate Dusty. I've met the guy, I know people that know the guy and he's an ass. And he does have a bad temper. And I was glad his ass was gone.

Agreed. Pinnacle, there's no reason for that.

I apologize for being childish.

The Big XII rejected it in a split vote 6-6 so the NCAA would have to make the ruling. Rumor is that the Big XII did it on purpose so that the NCAA would rule on it and set the precedent instead of them in case it blows up one day.
