ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2004 Puder @ 1 is dumb and you have 6-10 people who won't be in the rumble in it and pointless Hurricane/Christian. Viscera? Edge/Benoit? Puder is the first entrant, just ask anyone in this tread. ...no, Puder is the first man to sign up for the match. He is not, as of yet, the #1 Entrant. Hey, he might as well be entrant #1. Perhaps. But that might not work well enough to build the Maven/Puder feud for WrestleMania!
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 16, 2004 How many fucking people don't under stand first signed up and first entrant? Jesus Christ, do I have to go to everyones house, slap them in a face with a dictionary, and teach them the difference?! (storms out room glowing green) HULK SMASH! Guest Thrashist Report post Posted December 17, 2004 How ever it ends up, I'm certain that it won't top last year's Royal Rumble match. Man oh man, that was great. Everything about it ruled. Between Benoit and Orton owning everybody for so long (most notably the only entertainment the Cat has provided in WWE), Lesnar jumping Goldberg, the Undertaker's gong, Foley's return, and without a doubt the greatest part: the end of the match basically being all of the net favorites Benoit/Angle/Jericho/Cena/RVD together versus the Big Show. Not to mention CHRIS BENOIT winning the ROYAL RUMBLE. Good stuff, most likely the best minus 1992. This one has nothing going for it. We have no one to root for, no good angles on the horizon for Mania--it's like my only hope is that they don't fuck up even more.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Has a number 30 entrant ever won a rumble?
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 No, which makes it increasingly silly each year when they hype who gets the #30 spot, who is inevitably someone who would at least have a decent shot of winning (as in not a Heat/Velocity dude), which means that at least one credible person is out of the running.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Last year only 2 people had a real shot at winning: Benoit and Goldberg. Giving Goldberg the 30th spot just sealed the deal on who was winning, but I still was nervous at WWE maybe doing an infamous last minute change.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 17, 2004 There was some lingering possibility for Kurt Angle; since some were thinking maybe he'd get the title shot via winning the rumble but that was a long shot but he was the most realistic long shot. Not everyone was buying that Benoit would win it; even though he was booked #1 because of Jericho's deal in 2003 where had a similar sell the only difference was; we knew Benoit/HHH/HBK was being groomed for Mania for the title and Jericho/HBK had been booked for months before ManiaXIX. This year we are still uncertain what it'll be. Cena/JBL appears written in stone but the World Title is up in the air. They could still go with the original HHH/Orton idea (acually, the original original idea was HHH/Brock) but it seems HHH/Batista is shaping up instead, they could end up swerving us and doing Benoit/Edge and just making HHH/Batista a major hyped match but with it being in Hollywood and HHH's recent bitterness against Rock; You can be assured that HHH will main event WMXXI in rock's town. If HHH draws Orton; Batistia likely stays heel against everyone's wishes and faces Benjamin for the IC Title, or if HHH takes the face turned Batistia...Orton faces Rock where Rock does his rubbing magic. So as we speak, RR05 has three contenders... John Cena-Randy Orton-Batistia. Edge. Benoit. Snitsky. Kane. Angle. Eddy will all get the "they are favorites too" push as well but the three above are the clear contenders. I still believe Angle/HBK is going to work @ Mania and that HBK will return @ the rumble to screw Angle. So I'm predicting that Angle draws #5-9 and lasts until #29 HBK comes out to a monster pop and he charges after Edge (#21) and they brawl like crazy. Shawn gigs and is blood soaked. He rolls back in, Angle attacks and they double team shawn but shawn comesback and eliminates Angle whom had been in there for now 50+ minutes. Shawn/Edge will have a major hyped street fight on raw three weeks later where it goes outside the arena on purpose to the parking lot where A door suddenly swings open and smacks shawn in the face. Angle steps out and throws Shawn through the windshield and then AngleSlams him on the top of the car/truck. Edge calmly ddt's him on the ground for the easy pin. sets up Angle/HBK and I'm guessing Edge/Benoit no matter what for the title or not for the title will work Mania. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 I'm still saying that whoever wins the Elimination Chamber match at New Year's Revolution, the other five people will be entered into the Royal Rumble match. Don't know what that would mean for the World Title match at Royal Rumble, if there is one. Also, I would LOVE for them to have Ric Flair enter at Number 3 this year, homaging his 92 Rumble run.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 17, 2004 The only way that would work is if he lasts for a while.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 17, 2004 or if he gets dumped right away. A 5-10 minute stint hinders it. Either he lasts 40+ minutes or is eliminated 10 seconds into it. I'm sorry but they will have a World Title Match, so it'd be 4 of the six in the rumble. I'd say Flair enters @ 30...that way he can factor in the batistia/hhh aspect when HHH goes to screw Batistia after Batistia walks out on HHH during the Title match. Flair, still on the floor after being eliminated...gets in the middle of HHH whom is headed to the ring still pissed at Batistia. HHH shoves Flair to the ground and Batistia blows his lid and hurls over the ropes to attack HHH.

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Then let's bring Hogan, Austin, Bret, Luger and Lesnar back for this one. The rest are already on the roster or dead. Dead? Studd. Yoko. On contract? Flair. HBK. McMahon. TBS. HHH. Benoit. Hell, Have a Royal Rumble Winners Royal Rumble. Hire Samoa Joe to play the role of Yoko or bring back Rikishi. Have tomko grow out his hair and play Studd. Duggan-Tomko aka Studd-Hogan-Flair-Samoa Joe aka Yokozuna-Bret-Luger-HBK-Austin-McMahon-TBS-HHH-Lesnar-Benoit. Hell since Eddy won the mini rumble last year...put him in to round it out to 15.

ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Carlos Colon Going back a bit, this is CCC's dad, right? I never new he was a 2nd generation WWE superstar! Yep, Carlos is Carlito's dad. Funny thing...Carlos was around a long time by the 1993 Royal Rumble, yet Gorilla Monsoon called him a youngster. ...course, when you look at Monsoon at that time, 95% of the people wrestling are considered youngsters compared to him. Guest Loss Report post Posted December 17, 2004 I'm still saying that whoever wins the Elimination Chamber match at New Year's Revolution, the other five people will be entered into the Royal Rumble match. If they do this, there will be no one left to compete in the title match for RAW, which will almost assuredly be HHH v Benoit or Jericho.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 So, did Carlon Sr Have a run in WWE, or was this a one off? Might have been a one-off thing. He got NO reaction from the fans in attendance when coming out, I believe. ...then again, they may have been traumatized from both Jerry Lawler's HIDEOUS ring attire and Giant Gonzales debuting earlier in the match. If they do this, there will be no one left to compete in the title match for RAW, which will almost assuredly be HHH v Benoit or Jericho. That's what I said eariler in the thread. Unless they want to be cute and have HHH come out after winning the title and go "THAT'S IT! I've beaten everyone!" and then we hear "NOTHING STOPPING ME NOW!" and Mista Benjamin, the proud I.C Champion quickly reminds HHH that he's 2-0 over HHH. It's a easy set up. HHH loses again to Benjamin in a "non-title" match that night to give Benjamin the title shot @ the rumble. The sell is easy as hell that Benjamin is 3-0 against HHH. and HHH can finally get that job back.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Has a number 30 entrant ever won a rumble? Like said earlier, no he hasn't. Closest calls for it have been 89, 90, and 93...where #30 was one of the final two in the match (DiBiase, Perfect, and Savage respectively) If the finish wasn't changed, Perfect would have won in 90. Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 17, 2004 Something funny I found about Carlos Colon in the 1993 Rumble: When Yokozuna was beating him up right before the elimination, Colon kept smiling throughout it, like he was enjoying getting attacked by a fat Japanese Samoan. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2004 Assuming everyone except the two main champs will be in, let's say... RAW 1: Orton 2: HBK 3: Kane 4: Benjamin 5: Benoit 6: Rosie 7: Hassan 8: Edge 9: Jericho 10: Christian 11: Conway 12: Grenier 13: Snitsky 14: Eugene 15: Maven SMACKDOWN! 1: Daniel Puder 2: Mysterio 3: Reigns 4: Cena 5: Big Show 6: Chavo 7: Van Dam 8: Taker 9: CCC 10: Eddy 11: Dupree 12: suzuki 13: Angle 14: Heidenreich 15: OJ With only 15 slots per roster, it's a little harder to decide who the filler will end up being. It's hard to space out the bigger names more, etc.

Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 18, 2004 I think he is out from sometime between 2-4 months (it's been about 2 months now). If he doesn't come back for the Rumble, I'm sure he'll be back by No Way Out.
Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted December 18, 2004 Carlito is out until Early March @ Best. so either he doesn't make the WM Card or he'll do a HBK deal where he returns and say he never lost the U.S title and have his own version and he'll face some upper card face like Haas or RVD or Eddy or Booker in a "U.S TITLE unification" match. That won't really work. 1) I think they're going to do like WrestleMania VI, and have Cena still be US Champ while going for the WWE title. 2) Carlito, unlike HBK, really DID lose the belt on TV. Shawn was just stripped of it.
