Official Royal Rumble 05 Entrance List

Cena vs. Carlito is a natural feud for WM XXI that even a blind chimp with a pencil in its mouth can write out something that could work.

Take away the US Title being defended at WM and you have more meaningless Smackdown matches. What would be in it's place? The Smackdown roster is thin enough already for main events, when you put the only 2 singles titles that mean anything into 1 match, you got to fill the card with matches based on feuds over Shampoo commercials or something lame like that.

Cena is quite obviously going to Wrestlemania as US Champion, unless they pull a rush job by having him job it at No Way Out and give only build up the Main Event for a few weeks. Smackdown hasn't even teased Cena wants a shot at the World Title, so I'd like to believe either Eddie Guerrero or Booker T will main event the Smackdown side. Since Booker T really has no beef with JBL, Eddie vs. JBL is perfect since Eddie still has unfinished business with JBL.

I hated how they made a big deal about a girl being in it and how she was #30 all for her to enter...toss Henry out and then about 15 seconds later getting tossed effortlessly and quietly by Austin(i think it was Austin).

Yeah, it was Austin.

...would you have rather her been in the Final 3 (Her, McMahon, and Austin?)

EDIT: For the record, Chyna in 99 lasted 35 seconds.

No but they hyped the shit out of it; she should have lasted about 2 minutes or so and dumped a couple others.

I mean Look at who was in the ring when she came in (it was still rather full)

Austin-Gunn-Owen-D'Lo-HHH-Venis-Bossman-Henry

She could've dumped D'Lo and Venis at least and had uber heel Bossman dump Chyna. Instead she lasted 35 seconds. Then she lasted 37 seconds in 2000. Bossman eliminated her that year (Bossman ruled that Rumble too).

I love re-booking past rumbles as much as FBing the next rumble.

Things like Chyna lasting 35 second after all that hype is one thing I'd change. Another is the entire booking of the 99 Rumble itself.

How would you have booked it...if you still had to keep Austin and McMahon 1 and 2, and still used the people that were in it.

If you need to know who those were again:

Does anyone know, combined, how much dead time the 1999 Rumble Match had? (meaning no one or just one person in the ring) No one was in the ring twice, and there were several "1 person alone" spots in the match too.

Whoever thought that was smart hopefully got beat over the head with a sack full of doorknobs.

The whole sell was Austin having a Bounty on his head. Instead...McMahon chased him out so that his corporation would brutally hurt him and wouldn't have to pay out the bounty.

I'd have The Austin/McMahon set up like it was and have Shamrock and Test completely break protocal and enter the ring and attack Austin and bust up his ankle or leg and leave him for dead. McMahon leaves the ring but goes through the ropes back with test and Shamrock.

My Order(not much different) and action

1. Austin

2. McMahon

3. Owen Hart

4. Severn

5. Droz

6. Edge

7. Golga

8. Blackman

9. Tiger Ali Singh

10. Gillberg

11. Blue Meanie

12. Jesse Jammes

13. Mabel

14. Goldust

15. Gangrel

16. Kurrgan

17. Godfather

18. Al Snow

19. Kane

20. Ken Shamrock

21. Billy Gunn

22. Bossman

23.Val Venis

24. Jeff Jarrett

25. Test

26. Triple H

27. D'lo

28. X-Pac

29. Mark Henry

30. Chyna

I'd have owen work over Austin's leg the WHOLE night. The announcers would catch on that Owen is the one came closest to ending the career of Austin and with the bonus of a 100,000...Nothing would stop Owen from finishing the job he started in August of 1997. However, Austin's stubborn as hell so he won't go out. The whole night people take shots at Austin, all the faces and heels. Mabel comes in and dumps a couple but again since I'm only re-booking the rumble itself and not the company itself, Undertaker and the Ministry kidnap Mabel again...the announcers assume however that The Undertaker was going after Austin and the bounty and when the lights come on. Austin nor Mabel are seen and the remaining workers (Hart) is laid out on the canvas. The annnouncers assume intially they abducted Austin but the camera catches Mabel being dragged to the hearst. Then they zoom into Austin writhing on the floor and the refs NOR the announcers are sure if He was thrown over the ropes or not...So owen who has since recovered quickly spots Austin on the floor claims "I THREW HIM OVER!"...Austin in pain denies it. Then Commish Michaels makes a surprise apperence and walks down to Fink and takes the stick and demands "I want the people in the truck to find the footage from the other cameras while the lights were out! as for now Mr. Austin you are to remain outside the ring until we have proof you weren't or were eliminated. Owen goes nuts and chases after Shawn (but is careful to go through ropes) and yells at him but out comes Uber face Goldust @ 14 and Owen shits his pants and Goldust chases him around the ring but Owen eats a chair from Austin and Goldy rolls Owen Back in. Goldy Clobbers him around and tosses him over the ropes but Owen hangs on but Austin smacks the chair on Owen again and owen crumbles to the floor where Austin goes nuts again on Owen even though he's hobbling on one leg. Finally footage from G-TV shockingly shows up and it shows clearly in the darkness that Austin rolled under the ring after stunning Owen. So Austin rushes into the ring to clobber after Goldy. Ring fills up until Kane hits his spot and dumps those guys (Goldy, Kurrgan, Snow and Father)...Austin evades Kane. Kane stupidly eliminates himself like he really did.

Austin rolls back into the ring and tries to rest but here comes Shamrock and Austin takes a huge sigh of anger as if to say "FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" Shamrock rattles Austin around; working the leg/ankle and has him hanging over the ropes until #21 Billy Gunn also hobbling saves him. Shamrock and Gunn brawl for a bit while Austin recovers. Bossman comes out early and of course attacks Austin around the ring. Shamrock is knocked over by Test's big boot when he was holding Austin in the traditional "Two heels beating down a face ends up with Heel hitting the other heel" staple in the rumble. Gunn is tossed by Jarrett. Henry comes in and lays all out and threatens to dump Austin over but Chyna comes in and hurls him over to a massive pop. Chyna offers goodwill to Austin and helps him up but Austin stunners her anyways to a bigger pop. Then The mood shifts when HHH; pissed that Austin knocked down his girl...gets in his face and they brawl but it leads to Chyna accidently eliminating HHH to everyone's surprise. While Chyna stands there apolgetic, Bossman pushes her over.

This makes it...Austin,Test, Bossman, Venis, Jarrett, X-Pac and D'lo and of course McMahon.

McMahon wanders down to ringside as X-Pac dumps Jarrett and Venis dumps D'lo. Now it's down to 6. Austin, Test, Bossman, Pac, Venis and McMahon. The other 4 in the ring all stare at Austin kneeling in the corner and Venis makes a money sign and points at the other three as if to say "We get him over and we split the money". They go after Austin but Austin rolls out and during this Pac and Venis fall over. It's Austin Vs Test, Bossman and McMahon now. Austin's on the floor with McMahon and McMahon ends up in the Ring...which wasn't his intention. He hides behind Test. Bossman misses a charge and gets tossed over. It's Test and Vince Vs Austin now. McMahon wants nothing of this so Austin is left with Test...Austin is basically crawling at this point. Test stomps on him as Vince yells "ELIMINATE HIM DAMN IT!"...Test hoists him over his shoulder with him pointing to vince going "Write up the check!" and walks to the ropes and Austin grabs it and Test goes tumbling over.

McMahon goes BONKERS. He rolls through the ropes but Austin chases after him...Test, Shamrock, Bossman all return but Austin chairshots them all...McMahon crawls into the ring...as Austin limps back with Chair in tow...Rock runs up onto the apron and pulls the chair away from Austin and Smashes Austin with it and Austin stumbles around and Vince unknowingly bumps into him sending austin back towards Rock and rock jumps down, pulling the ropes down as well, sending austin crashing to the floor.

McMahon is hoisted on Test and Bossman's Shoulders as he celebrates.

If that's the case...switch Goldy and Snow around then. It doesn't matter any mid-card face would do...except Gunn or HHH. It's crucial they do what they did in the match to work with my plan.

So Snow, Father, Jammes...anything is fine there. and I think Goldy was a tweener...

I think Goldust was a tweener at the time, but who knows. The booking for almost ALL of 1999 was a complete mess. Why did Road Dogg win the IC Title and Billy Gunn win the Hardcore Title at the time both were challenging for the opposite belts? And why did Road Dogg deserve a IC Title Spot at Wrestlemania?

The entire King of the Ring tournament was booked horribly, Big Show turned heel/face about 67 times in 1999, about 100 title changes combined from all the belts at the time, Chyna; Intercontinental Champio, Co-Intercontinental Champions...

Thats just a small list.

Personally, I'm predicting that the other 5 men in the Elimination Chamber match that don't win it will most likely be in the Royal Rumble.

So, there's a chance (albeit a small one) for any 5-man combo of HHH, Jericho, Benoit, Edge, Orton, and Batista.

One of the faces will get ripped off in the title match... say Orton, HHH, and Batista are the last 3 left. Batista quits the turn tease and he and HHH dominate Orton. Get Orton to juice all over the place and do a stretcher job. Then Orton wins the Royal Rumble and goes on to get his revenge at Wrestlemania against HHH for the title.

Yes it's very likely...however if they wanted to add more drama to the rumble by having those 5 in the rumble..they could easily do HHH/Benjamin under the premise that HHH has beaten everyone BUT Benjamin. or perhaps Kane/HHH.

Kane vs. HHH? Blech... whenever they fight, HHH somehow makes Kane look like garabge. Last year he was Kanes opponent when he had to unmask. The year before was Necrophillia. In 2000, HHH and DX assaulted Kane and stole his mask...

What a horrible track record. Kane is better suited for the Rumble as the monster who cleans house I think.

They done that with Kane about 3 times now. It's time to let someone else like Batistia get that spot.

Why not Snitsky or Heidenreich?

The latter of whom's song I'm addicted to from WWE The Music Vol. 6.

*And yes, I'm bumping this so when Raw airs, if by some chance they name some of their 15 for the Rumble, I can easily find this*

Heidenreich Vs Undertaker is likely going to be on the card in a gimmick match of sorts, Perhaps a Casket Match. Kane and Snitsky will likely have a big brawl during the casket match and it'll continue in the rumble where they each eliminate each other.

Why does HHH need the IC Title again? He just makes the champion look like shit in the process and we all know hes gonna be champ at WM.

See 2001: Jericho

See 2002: Kane

And yes, Heidenreichs theme is kinda addictive.

I got a feeling they will do Jericho vs HHH on the RAW side for the World Title at the Rumble.

This isn't based on any rumours or anything, more that HHH will obviously be the champion, and will want to face someone that he can have a good match with. Jericho and Benoit fit that role, but I think they'll figure that Benoit-HHH has been done to death, so Jerihco will get the lucky spot of jobbing to HHH.

However, if they decide to give up on Orton for Mania (which I dont think they will), then I could see Orton-HHH as the RAW main for the Rumble.

On the SD side, if they want to have Cena challenge for the WWE title, there is no reason for him to be the US champ. Even though that title isn't exactly the most sought after title in the WWE, it would help a mid card Mania match to be for the US title instead of being "for nothing". I dont think Cena coming into a WWE title match as US champ would make any difference to the value of that match.

They could always say because Cena is challenging for the WWE title he has to forfeit the US title, and then have a tourny, and have it come down to Carlito vs someone like Booker T or maybe even Haas.

As for who should win, I agree that this is one of those years (like most) where its really only open for 2, maybe 3 guys. Personally I feel Cena should win it. I think they need to keep him away from doing any kind of JOBs. He's got some momentum after being off TV, and I think a loss, even at the Rumble, would kinda hurt him. Plus, Cena and JBL dont really have any issues. I think they need Cena to win the Rumble in order to get him in the middle of the WWE title mix.

On RAW, the likely winners are Batista and Orton, but neither of them really 'need' the win, because they are already in the middle of the RAW World Title program. I actually think it might be a decent idea to have a triple threat match with Orton, Batista and HHH, with Flair in the middle of H and Batsita. Orton could win, and that would leave HHH and Batista to continue their program on RAW.

If Smackdown has a tag title match, does that mean Rob and Rey aren't in the Rumble? Because that would suck, since they are two guys that would get respectible sized pops during the Rumble, and lord knows Smackdown needs a couple of those.

I'm pretty sure they'll be in the rumble considering it's pointless not to.

I'm thinking they'll start a program with the Bashams as they are JBL's "boys" and that'll likely work to NWO and likely by that point...The Dudleyz will get their annual random push and turn full heel and hopefully inspired by the ecw dvd's success they are edgy again and they work WMXXI with Rey and RVD which wouldn't suck.

I bet the Bashams take the titles at NWO, and then drop them back to Rey and RVD at Mania.

I'd prefer it if the Bashams won at the RR, leading to a riff between Team 4:20 and giving us RVD vs Rey Mysterio at WM 21. I know at one point (as in, pre-2002) that would have been considered a 'dream match', and would surely provide a more entertaining matchup as opposed to the predictability of RVD/Rey regaining the titles at WM.
