Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Also can I get a link to that site that compares players to other players via age and accomplishments.
KingPK Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Here's some RJ deal being called off news: http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/yan...ports-headlines Man, you'd think that Vasquez would WANT to go back to the NL. Guess we know who the new Cracker Jack guy will be at Yankee Stadium next season.
mike546 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 wtf? Is he allowed to do that? Does he realize hes going to be ripped to shreds next year if this is the reason RJ doesn't become a Yankee?
Brett Favre Posted December 22, 2004 Author Report Posted December 22, 2004 He thinks he's a fan favorite or something.
mike546 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I wonder whos going to get booed worse on opening day, him or Brown.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Technically he doesn't have the right to do it, but he's probably thinking "Fuck them. I signed a 4 year deal with them just last season. I signed here, I'm staying here."
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Also can I get a link to that site that compares players to other players via age and accomplishments. Baseball-reference.com is the best website for stuff like that. They list age and accomplishments for each player, and it's easy to read. If you scroll down to "frivolities," you can find a link that allows you to compare two players in frames.
Guest Brian Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Odalis Perez may be heading to Seattle. There's been a lot of talk up here lately.
mike546 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Wait, the Dodgers signed Drew? Then why the hell did they pull out?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 They could always do the deal themselves. Green/Brazoban/Penny for Randy Johnson. I'd laugh, actually.
2GOLD Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 They could always do the deal themselves. Green/Brazoban/Penny for Randy Johnson. I'd laugh, actually. And George's head would spin like the Exorcist..... Oh please go for it L.A.
Precious Roy Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Johnson has already refused to go to LA, so no, they couldn't do it themselves. And now I'm hearing Shawn Green is demanding a trade, apparently pissed that they were set to move him. This trade is still going to happen in some form, that I'm sure of, but there's going to be some tense moments for the people involved.

Agreed, thougb I'd hope the second time around the third team gets more out of the Yankees than Javier and some unproven prospects. I mean that trade made no sense for the Dodgers, aside from getting the payroll down.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I guess nobody mentioned to Green that they've been trying to trade him for 3 years now.
mike546 Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 The Yankees were doing fabulous in this deal. They did get rid of two prospects, but all they were giving up was Javy, and they were getting RJ, AND LA was giving them money. Also, they got Ishii, who they were probably going to trade to get someone else.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 Ishii would be a HORRIBLE pickup. His ERA is a full run higher in Dodger Stadium, he has no control, and his strikeout rate nosedived this season.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 I feel kind of bad for Ishii. I think alot of his problems now come with having been struck in the forhead by that line drive.

I doubt it. There's very little variance between his 2002 stats before the injury, and his 2003 stats afterwards. His 2003 was actually better, because he was slightly more hit lucky.

Precious Roy Posted December 22, 2004 Report Posted December 22, 2004 LA was NOT doing bad in the deal. They got rid of Ishii, who is a complete bum, they got two very promising prospects, they got rid of Green's contract, and they would have gotten Konerko from Chicago, who is a better and cheaper hitter than Green, plus the underrated Jon Garland, who'd probably thrive for them. The reason it fell through was Chicago opting out of moving Konerko, not LA suddenly deciding they were getting the short end.
Slovakia Posted December 23, 2004 Report Posted December 23, 2004 And now I'm hearing Shawn Green is demanding a trade, apparently pissed that they were set to move him. "WHAT?!?! You tried to TRADE me?!? Fuck you! Trade me!"

That doesn't work when nobody else wants him.
