This isn't a OAO and as far as I know; the OAO board isn't going on tonight. This is basically a place for you to reflect on the "best" of 2004.

The show opens with the MNF Spoof with Vince and Shelton with Trish Stratus.

First match is Christian/Jericho from WMXX.

Edit-

Match is clipped to the final minutes. This will likely be a theme all night.

My thoughts about this match?

Good Heel turn that led to the entertaing heel run of Trish but the match lacked that special quality it should have after 6 months of build.

What? You prefer the 10 months of nothing that led to nothing with Steiner and Test? Now that was a wasted angle, to "Helen Back."

Steiner and Test wasn't a major angle was it? It was more of on and off again angle they conveintly picked up when they felt it would work. Also; Christian/Jericho worked WMXX. Steiner and Test had nothing so thus the "non blowoff" is less offensive then the disapointing match that was supposed to be top notch.

So...the troops in Iraq were treated..to a Hardcore Holly match, yea.

But anyways, thoughts on what the number 1 match will be? Most likely the WM ME, but I'm not sure..

Logic points it'd be the WMXX Triple Threat match since it *was* the RAW moty and overall #4 match of the year in North America.

Behind Joe/Punk 2, Joe/Punk 3 and Guerrero/Lesnar.

Shelton Benjamin Vs Triple H upset match is next.

My thoughts on this match?

As a match it wasn't anything special and pretty much basic HHH Vs Underdog fourmula. The difference this match had besides the actual finish is the charisma Benjamin displayed and the fact WWE had a fresh new player to work with.

Bad marks? How meaningless it became ultimately. Benjamin is 2-0 over HHH and yet they haven't done anything with it. They failed not surprisingly to follow up on this match. The finish. It was hardly convincing and he came off as a fluke.

You know Vince never passes up a chance to point out his own charity work.

I still slightly marked out watching Shelton/HHH. Ever since that match, I think WWE stopped care for the rest of the year. Once they got Mania 20 under their belt, it just seemed like no one really had any direction and could care less what happened.

Which explains why 2/3 of the stuff on this show relates to stuff Pre-March of 2004.

And it was pretty funny that when they went over the Eugene stuff, they mentioned NO part of the Triple H/Eugene feud which dominated a big portion of the summer...and gives us more evidence why the Summer of 2004 was a waste.

They showed all that mattered; HHH Sippie Cup.

They try to put Taboo Tuesday over as a major success despite it being a complete abomination.

Snitsky murdering Kane is next. If they don't show Baby Punting; this show has no worth.

Kane looks like he spilled Koolade out of his nose.

Lita; in all honestly looked kinda cute last week.

Lita is the ultimate "Looks horrible 90% of the time but 10% of the time she looks great under the right light and make up"

BALLS. BALLS MY FRIEND.

I, too, think that Lesnar/Eddie was better than the Triple Threat, but....I didn't mark out as much...because Hooters wasn't packed that day...for WMXX...everyone else was...so I did, too.

Because, me, I'm a pussy.

BJNP FOR TNANWATVC CHAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The general consensus around here during the "MOTY" threads a month ago showed over time that Lesnar/Guerrero maintained the test of time; while The XX Triple Threat hasn't.

I think people are putting their "Marked Out" expierence on to high of a judging scale. We all knew Eddy was going over because Lesnar/Goldberg was the money match and Vince's wetdream.

Benoit was still up in the air for the fans. Eddy/Lesnar=Better Match...HHH Tapping=Better Moment.

Benoit-HBK-Triple H WMXX Package. Seeing this again makes me shake my head at how contrived HBK getting into the match was.

I *love* How Benoit sold the SCM like death.

2004 wasn't that great and showing any of the good but meaningless ***+ tag matches is pointless so...Might as well air this match in it's entirety...wont happen though.

I'd like to point out in case anyone is confused; this isn't a BEST MATCHES of 2004. So don't question the placing of the match.

I'm curious if they will do a Best Matches of 2004 like they did last year with Flair hosting.

I guess the Raw Elimination Survivor Series match gets the main event slot. HHH/Michaels/Benoit gets the 10 spot

Well, they still have to pimp the next PPV, of course.

I'd wager HHH/Benoit/Edge getting the Main event slot.

Orton/Benoit needs to be covered...

Foley/Orton as well.

Get ready for a hour of Orton.
