kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2004 AFC PLAYOFF PICTURE All the divisions have been clinched in the AFC. * Buffalo wins its divsion due to a regular season sweep of the Patriots * Cleveland wins its division due to a better division record than Pittsburgh, 4-2 to 3-3. * Houston wins its division. * Denver wins its divison due to a better better divisional record than Oakland, 5-1 to 4-2. They split their season series 1-1. Now here is where the fun begins. We have five 8-7 teams vying for two spots. The teams are New England, Pittsburgh, Indy, Tenn, and Oakland. There are three 7-8 teams that are probably still in the hunt, but I don't care. Now, for each 8-7 team, I have developed a "What-must-happen-for-me-to-get-in-the-playoffs" chart below. For all of these situations, the number one thing each team must do is WIN: Tennessee Chuck has the easiest ticket to get in the playoffs. Win and you're in. You swept Indy in the regular season and defeated Oakland. In addition, you have the best Conference record at 8-4, which is the second tier of regular-season tiebreakers after the head-to-head tiebreaker. What to look for: Just win Indy NoCal holds a win over New England, but Tenn and Oakland beat you in the regular season. Your Conference record is 6-5, but you have one more game to play against Denver. What to look for: Hope for Oakland and Tenn to lose New England nl5 lost to Indy, but beat Pittsburgh and has the second best Conference record at 7-5. What to look for: Indy losing would be great for you Pittsburgh Tyler beat Oakland and lost to New England in the regular season. Your Conference record is 5-6 with one more game to play against Buffalo. What to look for: Cheer against New England, Tenn, and Indy Oakland Bitch beat Indy but lost to Pittsburgh and Tenn in the regular season. Your Conference record is 5-6 with one more game to play against Jacksonville. What to look for: Losses for Pittsburgh, New England and Ten will make next Sunday a good day for you Simple enough...
