haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2004 I picked up this game the other day, and it has become the greatest time-waster I've bought in a long time. Atari took everything that sucked in the first 2 games and finally got it right. The controls are flawless, and the cell-shaded graphics look really nice. The in-game graphics really look like you are watching the tv-show. The planet-destroying death moves are pretty sweet as well. The world-tournament mode is still pretty cheap, but the rest of the game is great. Has anyone else picked this up yet?
Guest Smues Report post Posted December 22, 2004 Rented it twice, going to buy it if I don't get it for christmas. Love the game. Only complaint is I wish dragon universe mode or whatever it is called had told the story better, but it was 10000x better then the main mode in Budokai 2. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 The game was rushed out and is unfinished. That said, I quite enjoyed the time I spent with it when I rented it last month. It was actually pretty annoying as the game wasn't on the shelf, so I picked up an Inuyashs RPG I wasn't even aware was made and Rumble Roses... then saw the game behind the desk. I asked for it and said I would put one of the other games back, but the women at the desk, as store clerks do with weak minded individuals, convinced me I'd be a huge moron not to take advantgae of the price break I would get for renting 3 games at the same time. This sort of thing has never worked for me in the past and this time was no different. I probably played Inuyasha for 20 minutes, if that, in the time I had it since I was busy with the other 2 games plus work. I still don't think the game is a good "fighting" game, but it's getting close. While the other two games were most certainly "fan only", this game has a fun engine that is easy to pick up as a regular fighting game, but the downside is anyone who isn't really a fan, and even those that are, might not like the idea of those Dragon Rush battles which are 30 seconds of animation for 1 button push. haws bah gawd 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 One of my favorite things about the game was playing Brolly's Dragon Universe. His lines made me crack up a lot. Its almost like he's just a big idiot. He responds to everything with "Kakkarot! HAHAHAHA! Kakkarot!". When I found a Dragonball while playing as him, his response was "ARGH! HAHAHA! Kakkarot!" Maybe it's just that I was playing the game at 3 am and was pretty tired, but I thought that was funny as hell.
