Bored 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2004 Today's Schedule Continental Tire Bowl: Boston College vs. North Carolina, 1:00 PM/10:00 AM, ESPN2 Emerald Bowl: New Mexico vs. Navy, 4:30/1:30 PM, ESPN2 Holiday Bowl: #22 Texas Tech vs. #5 California, 8:00/5:00 PM, ESPN Silicon Valley Classic: Northern Illinois vs. Troy, 11:00/8:00 PM, ESPN2 Keep the discussion focused on these four games. Obviously the Holiday Bowl is the featured game today. The Silicon Valley Classic has to be the bizarre bowl match-up ever especially when you consider where the game is played (San Jose, not exactly a college football hotbed) and the late kick off time. I agree that it'd be nice to see Navy win a bowl game, but I don't think they're well-rounded enough. New Mexico's got a running game that goes beyond the option, and I think they'll pull it out. Regardless of the outcome of this game they still deserved to be in the Rose Bowl. Texas Tech is just an underrated team that is hard to matchup with. I especially got pissed off when Rodgers was whining that Mack Brown was classless. Then on top of that I've been saying the Pac 10 is overrated and the Big XII isn't and Tech went out and helped prove that. Now The Pac 10 has lost two bowl games and won one against a coachless ND. OSU was overrated but Tech was underrated and proved it. I remember Mike SC saying Cal was better than OU......HAHAHAHAHAHA! This is a big win for the Big XII! Now let's see what the Pac 10 does in the rest of it's bowl games. Who else in the Pac 10 is playing? A&M should take Tennessee and I'm expecting Texas to win. I thought Texas getting it was a joke since it marred the usual Pac 10/Big 10 matchup and it made no sense. 2. Cal isn't that great. I saw them huff and puff their way past a less So. Miss team, barely edged Oregon, etc. I would go off on a rant like "U of L would take these guys" but I have a BAD feeling about tomorrow. Petrino has been rumored to go to LSU and I have a feeling we might be distracted and tank the game against Boise. I say let the fucker go if he wants to so bad.
