I want Louisville to win so bad. I almost went to Louisville. Like I've said I got accepted to OU, OSU, Texas, and Louisville. So I kind of want to see them do good.

Bored tagged you, again. You are the most fairweather weirdo in the world. Not you, Cabbageboy.

I was out at the movies, but that makes the third game that all of us in Bored's contest were wrong on. Whoops. Sorta sorry I missed it. I've been really uninterested in this year's bowls.

Would you have had the same fanboyness had you went to Texas?

And you wanna hear something funny, I know you hate Ohio State......I almost went to Ohio State last January. I got accepted there, but financing going there fell through.

I said I like Cal. I'm not a diehard fan of Cal. I liked them enough to want them to win the Pac 10.

I liked them enough to know they got screwed. Then they fucking went and whined and it pissed me off.

Plus they aren't in the Big XII and I will pull for a Big XII team over ANYONE. So I'm happy the Big XII is doing good.

Now if I was running around saying that Cal was my fav and I loved Cal above all else and I was wearing Cal t-shirts and stuff you may have a case. But as of right now you don't.

I said I liked them this year and wanted them to do good until they started whining and then I got pissed. So get over it. Nothing fairweather about that. Bored didn't tag shit. I'm glad the Pac 10 took another hit and the Big XII grabbed another win.

I'm glad you almost got to go to a good university. I'm sure it would've been top notch education. I just don't like there football program.

No I was never going to go to Texas. It was one of the schools my mom sent an application to. The only two schools I ever seriously considered were OU and Louisville.

And I've been an OU fan since I was a wee-tyke. You kind of get that living 20 minutes away from the school.

Well the money situation pissed me off at first, but now I realize that I would've been in a $40,000 hole debt wise after graduating from there as an undergrad. And since I'm planning on going to law school in 2006, thats going to cost a lot too.

The school I'm at now is not that bad, its in the Top 5 for Public Liberal Arts Colleges, I just wish the money came through for Ohio State last year.

And your mom sent applications out for you? Same happened to me, which is why I went to a different school.

I filled out the one for OU and sent it out. I told her I wasn't interested in any other schools. She asked if I would consider anywhere else. I just said Louisville. And I can't even think why to this day.

She asked if I would consider anywhere else and I said no.

So she took the initiative to go send off some more applications incase OU didn't take me.

At least you got accepted into name schools, I on the other hand other than Ohio State got accepted into the 3 no-name colleges of Southern New Jersey and had to pick the least crappiest one. Since I didn't feel like dealing with heavy traffic on a commute(Rowan) and going into Camden, the most dangerous city in the US(Rutgers-Camden), I took Stockton, at least its near Atlantic City.

God how I hate New Jersey colleges.

I'm not celebrating anything until they actually win the NFC title game this year. I remember both those losses and the depression(loss to Tampa) and anger(loss to Carolina) that came afterwards.

Yeah yeah me too. But I'm trying to be optimistic and not be doom and gloom about the situation.

But anyways where was I? Oh yeah.....score one for the Big XII! Prove that the South is the best!

Shouldn't of been suprised UCLA choked. Dorrel really deserved that extension.

Well it wasn't a complete chokejob by Cal. I think it was Tech playing really good and maybe as they were saying on ESPN just being plain better than Cal.

I was waiting for Kotz to tell me why Tennessee was going to whoop A&M.

As a matter of fact Kotz I want your analysis on this game. I don't know much about Tennessee this season, except I love Rocky Top, so I'd like to get a fans perspective on how they're going to do in this game with all the injuries and what not.

So what does this CAL/Texas Tech (Shit they shocked the shit out of me) outcome say about the Pac 10 vs Big 12 on which divison is harder? Or for the Orange Bowl for that matter, if CAL almost beat USC and the Red Raiders weren't even close to beating OU?

I honestly don't think I can pick a winner in the Cotton Bowl. Were Ainge or even Schaffer able to play I'd pick the Vols. Their performance against Auburn in the second half gives me a lot of confidence though. Most teams would have just wilted, but Tennessee's second-half nature is not one to overlook. Fulmer's had a month to work on this game and get Clausen in a gameplan made for him rather than patchwork stuff put together trying to shove him into an Ainge-tailored system leading up to the SEC Title game.

Only game of A&M's that I've seen more than a few plays of is the game against OK State. From what I understand it's an even matchup for Tennessee.

I'll pick the Vols, but by 10 or less.

Cal losing to Tech really says nothing about the Orange Bowl. USC and Oklahoma are two very good teams and the better one will win regardless of their conferences. Cal didn't show up and Tech took it to them. Anything can happen on any given sund...er I mean, Thursday.

And I cant figure out why the hell Dorrel would get an extension as UCLA.

Man, Texas Tech look really good tonight. Their QB was pretty solid. Also, the Defense of The Red Riders managed to shut down Cal on my many drives. I think Cal might have benefitted from more JJ Arrington running it more, but at the same time, Cal did had a rougher time due to two key injuries to the WR's (no excuses, but that never helps any team). Unfortunately, Cal had more to lose in this bowl game and unfortunately I think the BCS was right to listen to Mack Brown whine session. I am not sure if the let down of going from BCS bound to the Holiday Bowl really did hurt more than they let on, but Cal just did not look like the had in games prior. Credit Texas Tech for doing their homework and finding the holes to pass it to it. I will say this game had two really good QB's who I think will be playing in the NFL one day. I was pulling for Cal to make a statement, but not this year. So the Red Riders proved to be not such push over as it was being hyped.

I still think the BCS needs a serious overhaul though. I actually think that they need to get rid of Conference eligibility and start taking the top 8 teams. In a perfect world, we would have a playoff, but at least you would no longer get Pitt in the BCS, representing a tough Big East that lost its two main powers. Also, it is a shame that Utah, which has had a great season, deseverves to play a team like Auburn, or some power house to see if they can hang with the big boys. Instead they get Pitt, which got in thanks to no Miami or Va tech, but really is the weakest BCS team ever, whose coach is leaving. I really hope Utah smears Pitt, but I rather see them take on Auburn and really test up to a top team...

And if all else fails, implement a playoff system so we trully determine who the best is. And I laugh at any academic director who is so concerned with school and academics, and of course revenue, er, alumni support. I just love how every other NCAA sport has a playoff, excpt for the BCS. Hopefully we move from the 17th Century one day,

So tomorrow has one of the best games in the Liberty Bowl, as Boise St takes on Louiville. Can you say no defense? Becuase neither can these teams really understand that concept. I am also looking forward to the Rose Bowl, as I really do hope Mich beats Texas, only becuase of how Mack Brown really whined to get voters to vote for them. (Another thing to get rid of the BCS is margin of victory, Cal got punished for being classy and ending the game against Ole Miss). And of course there is the National Title Game, which the BCS got right. Sure USC did not look awesome at times, but they found ways to win, and I have feeling this was a payback for USC not getting to play LSU (sorry Okla, but you lost your conference title, and you pulled a Nebraska on us in the following gane). But this year Oklahoma is vastly improved and are much more balanced team. So even with USC's less than stellar regular season, they still went out and beat the teams they should have, with one scare against Cal (too bad that Call team was not playing, due to less injuries). So I think this will be a fun national title game, where both teams have a legit chance to win.

For the millionth time: margin of victory is no longer factored into the BCS. Only the AP and Coaches Poll can take that into account. None of the computer rankings use margin of victory.

And Minnesota is beating up on Alabama as we speak. That'd make the Big Ten 2-0 in bowl games.

Perhaps the Big Ten was underrated this season? Remember there sure were a lot of undefeated and 1-loss teams in this conference until they got to conference play. Hmmm.......

Anyways I honestly don't think Cal should make any excuses. They were flat out beat and I think Tech was better than them. Had this been the Cal that played USC then sure they probably would've won. But on this night they were not as good as Texas Tech. Don't forget though that Tech was the 3rd best team in a very tough division and what's turning into an overall tough conference after watching this bowl season so far.

For The Millionth Time part II...

Cal played Southern Miss (USM, University of Southern Mississippi) and NOT Ole Miss (UM, University of Mississippi).

My bad... I didn't mean to get the teams mixed up. Also, I made the mistake of thinking that margin of victory was a determining factor ( i flashed back to a few years ago when that was what kept Oregon from playing against Miami). I don't follow college as much as a should and hence I made some errors in my statements, which I retrack. Man, I should have gotten Brett Favre's alma matter correct though. And being that you are a alumni of the school, I apologize for the mix up.

And I hope I didn't seem like I was making excuses for Cal's lose. Texas Tech was the better team and made the big plays and whose defense did enough to slow Cal down. I just wish Cal had their two top WR's. that is all. Texas Tech were the better team today and earn much kudos. Texas Tech did a nice job controlling of the line and that really proved to be the difference. It also doesn't help that the Pac 10 is in a down funk right now, so Cal does not get to play as many good teams as Texas Tech does, which often can help a team in the Bowl Games.

Also, I was bummed that Cal lost, since they have been the only bright spot for Bay Area football and to lose like they did was just dissapointing, but Texas Tech deserves all the credit in the world for being better prepared, plus their QB had a phenomal game. But I will say that JJ Arrington will be a first round pick, but I think Rogers needs one more year ( even though he has one of the quickest release I have seen, so give him a line and he could be a starter in the Pros.). So this was not a good a game that I thought it would be, but Tedford has Cal going in the right direction. And I think if Texas Tech continues to play like they did, they could be a top Big 12 team, for sure.

Texas Tech actually said that they didn't think Cal was as good as OU and Texas and they said they showed no fear against either one of those teams so they weren't scared of Cal. And well I guess they proved it in that game.
