Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2004 World Tag Team Title Match Eugene & William Regal def. Christian & Tyson Tomko when Eugene connected with the Stunner. Eugene got his usual child play antics in. Fun match to start the show that everyone got into. Tajiri def. Val Venis with the boot to the head. El Paso has a weird crowd. Both men get cheered during their isle entrances. Some moves are exchanged. Audience applauds after they stop for a bit. Val Venis is trying his best to get the crowd into the match. He takes Tajiri down then does a pose and the crowd boos his ass. After the match, Val didn't get up for awhile after taking the kick. The ref had to help him up, but Val managed to make it out of the ring by himself. He was walking funny, so I don't know if its really good selling on his part or if he did take the blow legit. I was a little concerned. Upon teasing a heel turn by not wanting to give the towel to anybod unlike his usual self, he ended up giving to a little kid to Awe of everyone. Simon def. The Hurricane with a roll-up holding onto the tights (The Trish / Molly KOTR 2002 finish) Simon ragged on the crowd by cutting a promo making fun of UTEP's loss to Colorado recently. He got mad heat for that. Good match, it was a lot like their encounter on Heat a week or two ago. The match was mostly based on reversals and submission tactics. I wish Simon would have gone back to his high flying style because the match would have been even more chaotic to everyone's delight. Womens Title Match Lita def. Trish with that SICK DDT Best match I have ever seen out of them after all these years. Must have lasted at least 10 minutes. Lita is insanely over with fans in general and I don't know why. Rick The Sign Guy was in attendence, he had a funny sign saying TRISH LEFT GUM ON MY ZIPPER. Trish saw it and went irate to the audience's pleasure. Finish came when Trish went for the Stratisfaction, only to get pushed off into the ropes to come back and get a kick to the gut followed by Lita's Evenflow. Muhammad Hassan def. Rhyno with the Steiner Screw Driver Muhammad cut another whiny blah blah blah promo only to get interrupted by Rhyno's music. Rhyno ran so fast to the ring, its like he was suffering from the effects of Ex-lax. Intense staredown got the crowd all riled up. Basically, your standard power match between hosses. Lots of interference by Hassan's gibberish boy. Finish came when Rhyno went for the Gore, Hassan was pulled out of the way by his assistant who grabbed his hand from the outside. Rhyno hit the 2nd turnbuckle and was caught into Hassan's finisher. Crowd was pissed, Rhyno had to be helped out all the way to the back by the ref. Submission Match Chris Benoit def. Edge with the Crippler Crossface Edge was a complete asshole and I fucking loved it. He came out as usual, but he was just toying with all the fans down the isle. The first section on the left side, he just stood in front of them staring while they were trying to their hardest to touch him or get a high five. He moved onto the second section on the right side and held his hand out to a fan for a handshake. When the fan went to go shake, Edge pulled his hand back at the last minute. Edge moved up to the third section and just went ahead and flipped some guy off. Benoit makes his entrance and El Paso gives him a huge pop, Edge clears the ring and gets on the mic. He cuts a heel promo saying he didn't tap out and that he should be the World Heavyweight Champion right now. Everyone disagrees and a HUGE You Tapped Out! chant occurs from the entire arena. Chris Benoit gets on the mic and says El Paso thinks otherwise. Match begins and its a lot like their match from RAW right before SSeries. Its a submission match so Benoit eventually got the Sharpshooter locked on. Everybody thought it was over, but Edge grabbed the bottom rope to their disappointment. Edge eventually got pissed that Benoit was getting the best of him and decided to leave the ring, but Benoit ran out and got his ass back. Edge later on got Benoit in the Figure Four Edgelock, I thought Benoit was done for, but he made it to the ropes. Edge later on got Benoit with the Spear and he was gonna try another submission, but Benoit rolled him up into the Crossface. Edge tried to be like Viscera and hang in there for awhile, but he eventually out to once again a HUGE You Tapped Out! unison chant. He was pissed and everyone made fun of him. Segment Christy and Stacy come out and shoot Randy Orton RKO T-Shirts into the crowd for a little bit until The Coach comes out. He insults El Paso and then them and then Stacy shoots him in the nuts with a T-Shirt for payback. 15 minutes intermission is given and then our show continues. Last Man Standing Match Dave Batista def. Chris Jericho when he couldn't answer the 10 count Both men get huge pops for their entrances. Batista is all hyped for the match, you could just see the intensity on him as he was jumping all over the place, in and out of the ring. Match was a lot like their Vengeance encounter, but with the LMS stip in place, it gave it a whole new twist. Jericho got the huge Y2J! chant going, but then once Dave got his offense in and basically just started overpowering and tossing Jericho all around the ring, the crowd instead for Batista who got a louder BA-TI-STA! chant than Y2Js! Jericho couldn't get the Walls locked on of course. Later on, he connected with the Lionsault, but Dave got up around 8. And how did Dave beat Chris you ask? Not from the Spinebuster. Not from 2 Spinebusters. Not even from the Batista Bomb, but by the CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL! Dave wins to the crowd's delight, I seriously think the crowd was just split on them, but with Dave ending up getting the majority. Jericho didn't get for awhile either. 2 referees ended up coming down to see what was going on with the officiating ref still there. Jericho managed to make it to his feet and walked away on his own. Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Title Shelton Benjamin def. Gene Snitsky & ? by count-out Shelton makes his way out to a good pop. Snitsky then makes his way and starts walloping on Shelton even before the match starts. Goes on for awhile since everyone is waiting for the third person and a familiar music is heard... KANE!!! came back The arena explodes to see his return. He gets in there, staredown occurs while Shelton is still banged up in the corner. Match starts. Kane and Snitsky start going at it, Kane ends up getting the best of him and chokeslams his ass. Shelton connects with the Superkick on Kane. Snitsky rolls out of the ring with Kane in pursuit. They fight down the isle all the way to the back. Ref counts both men out and Shelton retains in a relatively quick match. Snitsky / Kane for NYR it appears to be. The Main Event Randy Orton def. HHH with the RKO I keep forgetting HHH isn't the champ anymore. Ladies and gentlemen, I hate to break it to you, but Randy Orton is insanely over, at least in El Paso anyways. Huge Randy! and RKO! chants through the match (which was much better than Unforgiven). HHH was a funny fucker during this. He stopped in the middle of the match and got on the mic and said something along the lines of Hey, I want all you burroti eaters to shut up! If I hear one more RKO chant, I'm gonna the INS on every single one of you! Crowd boos his ass loudly and start calling him a Cullero (sp?) which means Asshole! Okay, I don't know what the hell you guys just said, but you're really starting to piss me off. You know what? I'm done. HHH ditches the match, only for Randy to go out there and drag him back in. Finish was basically from SSeries this year except in between the arm reversal and the RKO, Randy poked HHH in the eye for good measure and the crowd went home happy. It took forever, but I can see Randy staying around a long time now that he has managed to connect with the fans. After WWE makes their decision on either him or Batista, if Randy is picked, I for one will be able to accept as the leader of the new WWE generation. Good show as usual and all the wonderful pictures I managed to take are posted below. Good night, everybody. WOO! (Flair was a no show by the way) This one's for Bob Barron Captain Charisma and Admiral Apathy Tajiri! And unfortunately, no mist this time Since when did Val become bald and how? Simon Dean is here to help you! The real superhero I guess he gave Rosey the week off. Trish all banged up. [/snicker] Amazingly, Lita didn't botch anything. Edge later on got Benoit with the Spear and he was gonna try another submission, but Benoit rolled him up into the Crossface. What submission was this? Did Benoit and Edge do anything that suprised you tonight? And one more question to bug you about. How well did Edge put Benoit in his figure four sharpshooter submission? Thanks man. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2004 How good was Benoit vs Edge in comparison to other stuff this year? Hard to say, I liked a lot of stuff from this year. The 2004 RR Guerrero / Lesnar Benoit / HHH / HBK Benoit, Michaels, Foley, & Benjamin / Evolution Benjamin / HHH Benoit / HHH / HBK II Foley / Orton Guerrero / Mysterio Cena / Dupree (JD) Benjamin / Orton Edge / Orton (Vengeance) Benoit / HHH (Vengeance and Iron Man) Benoit / Orton Kane / HBK London / Kidman Booker / Cena (whole series) What submission was this? Did Benoit and Edge do anything that suprised you tonight? I think he was gonna go for a Dragon Slepper, that's what it looked anyway before Benoit took him down and out. How well did Edge put Benoit in his figure four sharpshooter submission? Very well. Benoit was in it for awhile before he managed to get the hold broke. Sounded like a good show. How was the reactions for Snitsky & Kane? The arena went ballistic once they heard the guitar riff for Kane. We all missed the big guy. Snitsky got the typical boos. Pop Order: Face Orton Kane Benoit Jericho Shelton Heel HHH Batista (although since he was getting cheered more, IMO he would be in the face section right above Jericho on my list) Edge Simon Dean Muhammad
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted December 31, 2004 I'm amazed Orton is that over. I guess the transition to live TV the audio from the arena is lower.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2004 It was pretty full actually. Not sold out, but 90 % capacity at least. A weird crowd they were, but they were hot for the show and didn't disrespect any of the matches.

Guest CronoT Report post Posted December 31, 2004 Damn, and I could have gone to this, too; if I hadn't been, you know, broke. I wonder if all the wrestlers will be coming to the Hooters restaurant near my work again.

I went a few times, and I can tell you, we earned that "Evilest Crowd" in the Leage Award.
