I'm not questioning your alliegence. You are worst then Anglesault here, at least Anglesault never went "Okay! GO SOX!" like you did today with the Horns.

That's a despicable act for a fan to do.

I will challenge your alliegence based on that. a real fan doesn't cheer for his biggest RIVAL for the sake of a meaningless conference bowl record.

Bowl Season isn't a "this conference is better then that other conference" event, it's "how much money can we make" empire.

I think Utah could win a BCS conference. I think they're that good. I think they could do great in a bigger conference.

I mean what if they decided to expand all conferences to have a conference title game? The Pac-10 could take Utah and......someone.....and I think Utah would have a good chance at the conference, at least second to SC. Well maybe not now without Urban Meyer.

Well to be honest, while I don't condone rooting for a rival, it wasn't like Texas was facing Oklahoma.

To ME it's "my conference is better than yours".

My allegiance is to OU above all else.

Then if OU is not available it's to state schools(OSU and Tulsa).

If those schools aren't available I'll take a Big XII school.

And if those schools aren't available then I'll do what any sane fan does when their teams aren't available. Root for the team you like better.

Ok seriously. I never got that. My friend got onto me today for rooting for Wisconsin today over Georgia b/c I wasn't a fan of either team.

Well if I'm watching the game I have to root for somebody don't I?

I agree and disagree with you. There's for the good of the conference rooting and then there's what Dama did today. He came across like a total Texas homer which is why he crossed the line.

I root for Big Ten schools in the bowls as in I hope they make the conference look good. Ok so I usually hope Ohio State loses and the rest of the Big Ten wins. So shoot me it's the Michigan fan in me.

I think we're fixing to find out just how good Urban Meyer really is. Succeeding in the Mountain West is a whole lot easier than succeeding in the SEC.

Not that he can't do it. But it's going to be interesting to see.

Logically, I'd rather them scrape the stupid "The Big Six Conferences" ruling and basically mandate the top eight ranked teams get a spot in a BCS game.

They could go the logical route and do 1/2 3/4 5/6 and 7/8 or mix and match beyond 1/2 by status of what would draw better.

Utah/Louisville

Auburn/Texas

Cal/Georgia

would have been the other 3 games with that system.

Sure tradition would have been thrown out the window but the "TRADITIONALIST" market is dwindling down rapidly anyways.

The game was great. It had me jacked up. Excuse me for liking my football and getting emotionally involved in it. I think everybody should get as emotionally involved in a good game.

You're still new to sports. Give it another decade of watching and you'll start to understand it better once the rivalry has been bred into you more.

If the rivalry won't allow me to get this into a game then I don't want to have it bred into me.

Of course I was literally on the verge of puking during the Red River Shootout, the OSU game, and the A&M game this season so I am emotionally invested in my team.

That Utah/Pitt game was a total disgrace. Pitt had absolutely no business being in a major bowl game. I kept kinda hoping they wouldn't suck as bad as they did tonight, mainly since U of L is going to the Big East and I don't want the conf.'s bid in jeopardy.

I would have loved to see U of L play that Utah team. Win or lose it'd have been a blast to watch. Dama is correct with his feelings on Utah I think, and I'll even go further and say Utah may well be the best team in the country. Jesus, I loved watching that tonight. They run an offense that's seemingly light years ahead of what everyone else is doing, and man I loved that blitzing defense. Fuck doing the prevent, just blitz a jobber like Palko and he was clueless.

Palko seriously has to improve his reactions to a blitz. How many times did he have all day back there and just stumble backwards and get sacked for a loss of 10? Tonight showed everyone what to do against Pitt, just blitz the shit out of them.

Shame to end a great day of football with that garbage game. LSU/Iowa, Texas/Michigan, and Georgia/Wisconsin were all good to great games.

Why did Walt Harris coach this game? He is not the coach of Pittsburgh. He signed a contract with Stanford. Pitt. was unprepared and that falls on the coach.

Urban Meyer signed a contract with Florida before this game.

You could say the exact same thing about him, too.

But the new Utah coach was on the sideline. Utah had their coach there, not sure if big Dave was on the sideline for the Panthers but I doubt it.

Well Pitt just showed why the Big East should no longer get an automatic bid, unless the team has earned it. A major bummer for Utah was that they really were in a no-win situation. If they destroyed Pitt, which they did, critics would say that they beat the weakest BCS team. If they had won closely or lost, then critics would say that mid-major teams have no business being in the BCS. I would have loved to see what Utah could do against Auburn, Va Tech, Texas, or Mich. They needed to play good teams and not the joke of the BCS, which Pitt was.

They really need a playoff, or at least set it up so that #1 plays #2, #3 plays #4 and so on. The #20 team has no business being in the BCS and hopefully the comittee comes to the realization that Miami and Va Tech are in the ACC and the Big East does not deserve an automatic bid unless the team is really that good and has earned a spot. But being that money dictates how the postseason is set up, makes me eager for March Madness, where the Champion earns the title and not get a chance becuase they don't play in the ACC or other Big Time Conference.

After watching Utah play today I think they very well could win or keep up with powerful tems like OU or USC. It's sad they will not get a chance, I mean you put a number 6 team against a 21 ranked team. They should have at least got Auburn or Louisville at that. Although the Louisville-Boise State was the bowl game I was looking forward to most and it did not dissapoint.

You're right, and I really don't like Meyers coaching Utah either.

Dave Wannstedt wasn't on the sidelines for Pitt.

Utah's new coach being there on the sideline, was because he was brought up from within the Utah coaching staff.

If I'm not mistaken, he was a defensive coordinator.

Well Utah did it and I'm happy for them. That was a dream season for them and I honestly don't think they'll repeat it with Meyer leaving. But I can say they were good and made it look easy out there.

Sure would have been nice if the NCAA had provided better competition for Utah.

And I still don't get Dama rooting for Texas. You don't ever root for your worst rival... unless you need them to win to backdoor into a big game I suppose (which this was not the case), but that doesn't happen near as much in college ball as it does in the NFL.

Auburn won't kill Va Tech. Tech ain't no jokers, heh. I think it's mainly just that everyone thinks Auburn is getting screwed by the BCS and that the game itself is uninteresting. I'd find it really ironic if Va Tech beats their asses though. Hey, it happened to Cal.

Question: Should Utah get a share of the nat. title? Seriously, when has a team gone 12-0, won a major bowl game, and not gotten ANY consideration for the title?

As far as that Pitt fiasco last night, Palko has to get rid of the ball. Obvioulsy he wasn't a real fast scrambler, so just toss it, get rid of it. He had all sorts of time on a bunch of those sacks, but he wouldn't just throw it in the crowd. Those weren't "Holy shit I had 1 second" kind of sacks, he had about 5 seconds on several but had no idea what to do.

Looks like U of L will have to save the Big East's automatic bid, heh.

No because the winner of the Orange Bowl will win it outright.

I think if USC wins the Orange then AP will vote for them, but I think if OU wins then the AP might vote Auburn as their champ if they win as well.

Why would they? OU is ranked #2 by the AP I believe. If they beat the previously ranked 1 USC, I don't see how the AP would go, "Ok so the #2 team beat the #1 team, let's give the title to a #3 team who beat a #9 team!" I think it's the Orange Bowl winner that takes it.
