Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Damaramu just didn't want to deal with people here who would have likely gloated or rubbed his nose in it, understandably. He dug his own grave on that. I think had he kept his mouth shut leading up to the game it wouldn't have been so bad. He put the final nail in his coffin with the way he acted over the weekend when Texas won. He trashed any goodwill left towards him with his posts in the Rose Bowl thread. teke184 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 He asked me to ban him. I'm not one of the people who was aching to ban him, partially because I don't like to ban people unless someone is asking for it. In this case, the really DID ask for it, not just act like a dumbfuck after being warned.
Guest Just Looking Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Philosphical question: is it better to have made the title game and got crushed, or to not have gotten there at all?
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Damaramu will be back. Either it's a temporary ban or he gets a new name. Nobody can give up TSM.
yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 I cannot see Jason White getting drafted at all. Though with the way the game goes, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he signs as an undrafted free agent as a third string QB, toils for 2 or 3 years and then the 1st and 2nd stringer goes down and he becomes a Cinderella story. OR something realistic could happen

Guest Big_Jay101 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 I think White will still go 2nd round at least, he is a good QB and will be drafted in the 1st or 2nd round.
Bored 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Dama was going to get himself banned eventually. Really it's a year too late as he was even more unbearable in the college football threads last year. This past year he became a bandwagon fan in multiple sports and subsequently annoyed people in multiple threads besides the college football ones. He's just about the least knowledgeable "sports fan" here yet he probably made more posts than anyone in the sports folder.

Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 What the hell happened!? Oh well, they were destined to break eventually I was just hoping it'd be next year instead. As far as the National Title is concerned, USC deserves 100% of it!
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 The way USC has played, I'm not sure even Auburn would have been a sufficient match either....
Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 True, but for a minute there I thought Jason White almost thought HE was playing for the Trojans with all those interceptions. Or did the OU protection just completely fail tonight?

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted January 5, 2005 I would be surprised if White goes on the first day at all. I don't think an NFL team would want him with his knee problems and tendency to play like shit in title games.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 True, but for a minute there I thought Jason White almost thought HE was playing for the Trojans with all those interceptions. Or did the OU protection just completely fail tonight? Well USC has the best pass rushing defense. Oklahoma was JUST NOT PREPARED for it.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 5, 2005 I would be surprised if White goes on the first day at all. I don't think an NFL team would want him with his knee problems and tendency to play like shit in title games. Ken Dorsey was drafted in like the fifth round and didn't have injury and age issues. White won't be drafted until at least the 5th, if he's drafted at all.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 You know, as I sat back and watch this ass raping tonight I couldn't help but wonder what was going on in here with Dama. For some bizarre reason I couldn't help but think before this game that OU was going to win...perhaps I actually bought into his White pimping and the media's infatuation with White "redeeming himself." Yet a part of me deep down sorta realized that this was going to happen...I recall asking my dad about the BCS fiasco recently: "Who would you take out of this game for Auburn? USC or Oklahoma?" "I'd take out Oklahoma...that White asswipe is a flat out bum. Is it true they are going to repossess his Heisman?" It's funny, but I think we all knew that White was going to choke and stink up the joint again tonight. Even when Dama blathered on and on about how White should get his 2nd Heisman (and check threads, I was basically the only one who called him out on how much of a joke that really was). Anyway, I remember him saying that he considered going to U of L at one point so I won't trash him any further.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 I hear the greatest chant in college sports right now... "Over rated" "Over rated" "Over rated" I don't care who it happens to (unless I happen to be rooting for a particular team) it just gives me chills. Funniest example was the Minnesota-Duluth Hockey fans chanting it, at there own team.

It's not really fair to judge clutch play, by last years performance. However, he was horrid today. Made 2 bonehead INT's. However, he had a great career and imo the Heisman Trophy he won was more than deserved. The game itself. I for one didn't see this coming.USC hadn't really put together an entire game all season, expect Arizona St. My figuring was, USC would fall behind. Come back, but come up short and lose. USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Another message from Damaramu (who wishes to be reinstated to TSM... TEKE!) You guys were right. OU wasn't as good as I thought they were. They had the ability to win the game but they just played stupid football and the Trojans outclassed them in every way. The Trojans were the better ball club and The Sooners simply weren't. I'm depressed that Jason White couldn't have his title but he didn't deserve it on this night b/c he played like shit. The guy seems to have a problem with performing in big games. I hope he fails in the NFL and comes back to OU as a QB coach since he has the knowledge to help the younger guys. This was OU's last chance for a couple of years as they now have to reload. They'll probably still win 10 games every year and play in the Cotton Bowl or a BCS bowl but not for a national title. It is depressing but I can deal with it. I'm sorry I melted down leading up to this game. But here in Oklahoma College FB is all we have and I take it seriously. If I come back I will live up to my agreement with Slasher Flick and put a big picture of Matt Leinart holding the Crystal Trophy in my sig. I am upset at my Sooners but I still love them. I feel they didn't give 100% of there heart in this game and for that they didn't deserve it and I'm glad USC made them pay for going through the motions. Hopefully Bob Stoops will take the last two years and use them as a learning experience b/c he is a great coach. I hope OU doesn't lose him to an NFL team b/c I think he will get us another title. This was his third title game. Yeah he's 1 for 3 in title games but I think he can net us another one in 3 or so years. So in closing I hope I can return to TSM and root on The Eagles for the Super Bowl and I am sorry it came to this. The Trojans were flat out better than The Sooners. Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Why would you ask to be banned and then decide to come back 3 hours later? Weird. I started watching the game intently, but after the second quarter started to unfold, it became background while a handful of friends and I played poker. An absolute shit-kicking, the likes of which even exceeds Georgia over LSU and Arizona State over Iowa in terms of big-name teams taking a brutal loss this season. On one hand, Auburn's got to be pissed because they certainly couldn't have done any worse than Oklahoma; on the other hand, at least they weren't the ones getting embarrassed by some ruthless motherfuckers. Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 So, early preseason rankings for next year? I imagine USC will be #1, and I can certainly see Texas in the top 3. I also think Michigan, OSU, and Iowa could all be legitimate contenders next year (assuming OSU's program doesn't melt down before then).

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 (edited) USC's running the table again. Hey, it's early but so what. This is the most talented, best coached team in the country. The schedule isn't very difficult either. I know we saw a great Rose Bowl with Texas/Michigan. But, I'd love to see a traditional Big 10/Pac 10 championship game between USC and Michigan. Since the Rose Bowl does host the National Championship next year. Edited January 5, 2005 by Vern Gagne
