WWE-sponored ECW pay-per-view questions

Recommended Posts

the only thing the WWE can do to make it so this PPV doesn't suck is not do it. They should just leave the ECW legacy alone.

Although...Corino...I'd buy it just to see him.

Actually....with Steamboat coming to WWE lately, and Foley around, why couldn't Vince just throw some $$$ behind a Ring of Honor PPV...and allow the ECW guys to compete under the umbrella that it is a WWE event.

Think of this card:

WWE and ACE BANDAGE PRESENT:

RESURRECTION

The Return of the EXTREME

WWE:

RVD

BUBBA DUDLEY

DVON DUDLEY

MICK FOLEY

TOMMY DREAMER

TAZZ

JERICHO

BENOIT

MALENKO

EDDIE GUERRERO

AL SNOW

TAJIRI

RHYNO

REY MYSTERIO

RING OF HONOR/INDY GUYS(NON-WWE):

LO KI

SAMOA JOE

CM PUNK

MAFF AND WHITMER

CORINO

TRENT ACID

MIKE AWESOME

JUVI

SUPER CRAZY

AMERICAN DRAGON

PAUL LONDON( yeah...I know...but...he could be a surprise ROH favorite)

AUSTIN ARIES

JOHN WALTERS

MIKEY WHIPWRECK

etc...some others who are NON-TNA so they could do this...

Oh...and Dawn Marie/Francine in a chick thing.

Seriously, ROH is NOT a threat to Vince, but, this would be a good way for Vince to scout new talent, make it an awesome show, and well---everybody would be happy. PLUS--at the end...have Tazz and Rhyno come out to the ring and have them give Aries and Joe the old ECW belt...sort of a pass of the torch thing.

ECW + ROH?

I'd rather not fag it up.

The one thing that worries me is that the event will feel like the Booker T/Buff Bagwell main event that Vince tried to present as an actual WCW match. If this happens, they'll be lucky Booker/Buff was only one match instead of an entire PPV.

I'm not trying to compare the two, per se, I'm just saying that it had better not be one of those deals were they wave the company banner, present video packages, and tell us what is going on. For this to have any chance, they have to keep it simple.

Also, even if it is "one night only", I'd expect something creative seeing as how there is quite the buzz surrounding this and nothing official has been announced.

Here's to hoping that something was learned from the Invasion.

In addition, I agree with the poster who mentioned the in-ring style. As previously mentioned, Vince has to know he's dealing with a risky crowd. If he does anything that the crowd doesn't want, the fans will react to it. I'm curious to see if someone like RVD, who supposedly suggested the idea in the first place, would try any moves that he normally wouldn't be able to do due to the "WWE style".

Finally, I think of all the people that may be apart of the event, Joey Styles is second only to Paul Heyman in terms of people who NEED to be involved.
