iliketurtles 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 "Kurt Angle, Shane McMahon, Trish Stratus, Stacy Keibler and Shawn Michaels were all in Japan earlier today to promote the 2/4 and 2/5 TV tapings at the Saitama Super Arena (which is Pride's home base). They did a Michaels vs. Angle face-off., but not sure if that will lead anywhere. Tickets go on sale tomorrow." Dave Meltzer with the report...let's hope this goes somewhere other than a photo-op. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 8, 2005 God; The set up so easy and RIGHT there. I've done about 200 billion different FB's to contrive this match. ANY OF THEM WORK damn it! I don't care if they make the match over spilled coffee...just give us that match. My best set up is, Angle losing at Rumble, meeting with Edge backstage and Edge prior to going into the rumble bitches, he shouldn't be IN the rumble since he should be the champion but Shawn screwed him. Angle mocks Shawn and such by calling him washed up has-been kid Angle then on SD claims to beaten everyone anyways and that he's tired and waiting for someone to prove something, so he continues to Invitationals...leading up to NWO with another nameless jobber getting smoked by Angle only for Shawn to pop up and SCM angle out of nowhere. Shawn grabs the mic "You say you've beaten everyone? Well, son you never beaten this "washed up has-been", but I love to prove people wrong, so @ Mania...You'll see how "washed up" I am". EYE CANDY Believe it or not; contray to many idiotic notions around here...The Japanese aren't all "WORK-RATE~!" as we like to assume they are. They are males too. They like tall blond big chested girls. They dont have much of that in Japan. Many people a couple years back before WWE returned to Japan after a LONG hiatus idioticaly said they would shit on the product; yet it sold out and they had incredible reactions. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted January 8, 2005 WWE seriously can't charge 49.99 again. WMXX had the whole "20" thing going for it. WMXXI should be 44.99.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 HBK vs. Angle would rule. NO-SELL-A-MANIA!!! Thrill as Angle kicks out of 6 Superkicks, HBK kicks out of 4 Angle Slams and escapes 2 anklelocks, Angle blows the moonsault only to get HBK's, and of course the thrilling conclusion where Kurt pounds on HBK 10 minutes straight but HBK KIPPUPS!~ to bust out Superkick #7 for the 3!~ I kid, I kid--I'd still wanna see it, but we'd be seeing far more of a sportz entertainment match than a technical match. I hope Brock appears post match and double powerbombs the crap out of Shawn, though.

You could move Booker back to Raw considering he did shit on Smackdown...of course subing Lesnar for him. You could always send over the tag team champs from Raw to Smackdown and unify the belts there and make tag team championship wrestling exclusive on that show. Raw's tag team division has been hurting for over 2 years.

Scroby 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Unfortunaly I don't see WM21 being that entertaining. The only matchup I could actually look forward to is HHH vs Batista (if it happens), and Angle vs HBK (if it happens, knock on wood.). Anything else, wouldn't probably be that good. I agree, because most of the "big matches" that WWE has in mind are frankly going to be crap feuds crapped off with crap matches. HHH-Orton looks to be off, though, so maybe it's going to look vastly different than what we expect. There could be an interesting undercard, but we won't know until maybe 2 weeks before the show. I expect 2-3 good matches at least at the bare minimum. An HHH-Orton or HHH-Batista match for one title and *any* match with JBL defending the SD title are two hella-weak matches for WRESTLE-F***ING-MANIA no matter how you look at it. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Benoit/Edge would result in a good match, even if the feud gets shoved down to the opener. Presuming HBK does face Angle, I don't see any other real feud for Edge, 'cept maybe Jericho and that match should be pretty good too. At least Edge is a huge upgrade over Christian from last year. Yeah, it looks like they've lost faith in Orton for Mania now, and while Batista *could* be inserted in that slot, they haven't built him that way just yet. He's worlds better than Orton is basically every category, so if they wanna push a "new" guy into that slot, Batista's fine. I don't know what they'll do with Eddy, but after that post-match tension they had on SD I wouldn't be shocked to see them have a match at the Rumble or something. However, Rey just beating him two times straight doesn't seem like a good enough basis for a feud, and frankly--turning Eddy heel? Sounds stupid, and it honestly can't last for very long. The smilin' Lie, Cheat, Steal Eddy was getting a little stale, though, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

I think if Eddy, elimates Rey from the Rumble, or Rey Elimates Eddy from the rumble and Eddy cheats his way back in their and elimates Rey then that match can lead up to Wrestlemania, but with No Way Out before Wrestlemania, the blow off might just happen there. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Good point, but assuming somehow they successfully turn Eddy heel, it does open up some fresh match opportunities. Cena apparently is done filming his movie, so he's just gotta be at Mania. I'd think it would be a natural to have him gun for the title, but if not, Cena/Eddy is still a strong match. It's the most "Mania-worthy" match I see involving a vet and a younger guy, and it should draw, in theory. Of course, they'd likely want to save that for a SD PPV, since they might figure it would need it more than Mania, unless they'd do a rematch. I had heard Angle/Taker was planned instead, though. While HBK in another match might give us more good Mania matches, we've never seen HBK/Angle, so that's more interesting than HBK facing somebody on Raw. If it happens, shouldn't be hard to top those last big Mania cross-motion matches...Taker/Kane and Goldberg/Lesnar.
