Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 While I was loading up Firefox a few minutes ago, my system decided to tweak out and restart and do chckdisk. After doing this, I now can't access my bookmarks at all. I've tried copying my back up bookmarks list back into my mozilla folder, but it won't show up in the browser at all. I can restore them out of my history list, but I'm doubting that it will stay loaded if it's in this state. What do I do?
Jobber of the Week Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles Throw away bookmarks.html Restart Firefox.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted January 8, 2005 Author Report Posted January 8, 2005 Interesting, it seems to have fixed last night when I restored them from my history folder. I have to reorganize the folders of course, but it seems I have bookmarks again. Thanks Jobber.
Highland Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 I've had the same problem a few times, thanks for the tip on how to fix it.
Guest BDC Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Hey, at least your firefox still WORKS.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Im loving firefox on my new 2.0 ghz computer (as opposed to my 800 mhz computer) because everything seems to load about 20% faster even though my connection is still slow as molasses.
