Matt Young Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Article Link Nintendo Announces "Dance Dance Revolution With Mario" Posted By Misha on 01.07.2005 No, it's not an April Fool News has just appeared on the Nintendo of Japan website announcing the development of a Dance Dance Revolution-style game featuring Mario and company. Whilst details are currently sketchy, it appears that Nintendo will be working in close collaboration with Bemani maestros Konami, and will feature the very best that both companies have to offer. The article also gives a 2005 release date, and suggest that the game will include mini-games as well as the 'main' game. Furthermore, the game is expected to ship with a dance mat included. The first live unveiling of the game is scheduled for the World Hobby Fair in Tokyo on January 16th. Until then, the early screenshots can be found here credit: Nintendo Japan & GamesRadar -------------------------- Personally, I am a DDR newbie. I've been getting into the game recently after watching some of my friends who are ridiculously skilled at it. I've been trying to decide which console version to get, and being a Mario mark, this should be pretty awesome.
Guest hhheld_down Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 ssshhhhh... did you hear that? my girlfriend just creamed herself upon reading the news.
Guest TheBigCalbowski Posted January 8, 2005 Report Posted January 8, 2005 Probably will be just like Disney Mix. The songs will be playing but the character is in the background playing the DJ.
Ced Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 5 words: Super Mario Theme (Eurobeat Mix) I'd be so there if didn't think so lowly of the GameCube.
Lil' Bitch Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 ^ You'd be surprised what techno remixes of certain game themes come out like.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 You should be able to "Do the Mario" although that wouldn't be much fun.
Guest Smues Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 You should be able to "Do the Mario" although that wouldn't be much fun. If they put 'Do the Mario' in the game I would plunk down the money for that song along. That would just be the most awesome thing possible. Video of Captain Lou singing it would be even better. Must go figure out where I have that mp3. Swing your arms, from side to side. Come on it's time, to go, do, THE MARIO!
Ced Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 It's a terrible thing that my mind is already coming up with possible DDR steps for the Super Mario Theme. And the possibilities of a Legend of Zelda Speed Mix. Seriously though, what other Nintendo songs could you possibly use for a DDR game? ...aside from Pokemon. Blah.
Guest Smues Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I'm sure that hidious DK rap would be used. Ugg.
Scroby Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 As long as the songs don't turn out to be similar to the craptastic songs that were on Donkey Konga, and you do know which ones I'm talking about the people who have played it. This should get DDR fans who only have a Gamecube to plop 50 to 60 bucks down for it.
ChrisMWaters Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I'm already dreaming of Techno beats of the Super Mario Bros. Overworld, Underground, and Starman themes. ...maybe they'll use the Dr. Mario theme too.
Positively Kanyon Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 As long as the songs don't turn out to be similar to the craptastic songs that were on Donkey Konga. What the hell is wrong with the songs in Donkey Konga? I have this game (and the excellent bongos) and all the songs in there are fantastic! They have a bit of jamaican/reggae vibe to them, but that's in the theme of the whole "jungle" theme... As for Mario DDR... where can I get this, I must have it now!
Matt Young Posted January 13, 2005 Author Report Posted January 13, 2005 It's not out yet, Kanyon. As the article says, it's set to be unveiled in Tokyo on Sunday and is to be released sometime this year, although a date is still forthcoming.
