The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 Anyone here familiar with the program? Is it easy, hard, impossible to lay down multiple tracks and mix them well without running into a litany of problems like not synchronizing and things like that? I needed the program so I can do production stuff for whenever I get that band o mine thrown together. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
Guest theanswer1824 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Cool Edit is good. i've used it for sequencing but just that. i don't try to build actual music on there, just sequencing. i do all my hard work with all my outside gear and clean everything up on pc. Reason is another good program to look at. Good luck with your stuff. What kind of music do you do?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted January 13, 2005 You should really get the band before you get the editing stuff.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Yeah it's gonna be funny when I have to do a lot of this myself because nobody could stand working with me
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted January 13, 2005 It's so much easier. I hate bandmembers. My absolute maximum is three, and that's begrudgingly for a few months.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Do you have any advice as to what to look for in a band member? Other than being able to play the instrument?

Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 For extra band members you're basically looking for warm bodies who can play the shit you show them. If you're lucky, you'll gain a collaborator that has a grasp on what you're trying to express in your music that can take it to another level. If you're not, you're giving up a larger chunk of the payoff when you play out. Don't over stock.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 My uncle and I use Garage Band and our mixing board for laying down tracks. I've heard decent things about Cool edit though.
IllustriousOne 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 My recording guy uses Cool Edit with his mixer. It produces killer shit. I'll have to ask him about some things to do with it though, since I'm pretty much a scrub when it comes to that program, for now.
