I'm the director of this documentary that will be released in 2005 and I wanted to share it with everybody here on the board. It contains adult language but it has been getting great reviews all over the internet.

You're welcome to share this link with your friends, post it on other message boards or websites, etc... I want to get this trailer out to the public and get some promotion for my production which will be released sometime this year.

Thanks,

Michael Moody

Just so you know, there's already two posts dedicated to this in general wrestling folder

Three, actually. But this movie does sound very interesting.

I wasn't aware of that. I'm trying to open the general wrestling folder now but I can't for some reason. It asks me to login, I do, doesn't work, asks me to log in again.

Can you link to the 2 posts in this thread so I can link directly?

They will not talk to me. They will not talk to any filmmaker or do an interview or anything like that after Beyond the Mat. I might try but I already know there answer.

What do you think they will tell me?

Can anybody hook me up with those links? The general board doesn't work for me. Thanks for any help.

I think they will say,

"We'd love to. Afterall, any press is good press. There is no such thing as bad publicity."

And then they'll have two very large men escort you out of the building and smash your camera. It would be great. The 102nd reason not to be a pro wrestler...

Did you, like, film this all at one show in one day??

Is the focus mainly on the union thing? Because that would seriously rule. The WWE shouldn't be getting away with that shit, and it's probably the only reason they're still profitable today.

Who is laughing like a little girl during the New Jack take, pretty annoying.

Overall looks pretty bush, not going to learn anything that I didnt know before. All these guys are either going to be resentful towards the WWE or kiss Vinces ass in hopes of getting work in the future.

Did Beyond The Mat really hurt them or something?

I don't see how it did. BTM didn't slander WWE in any way.

It didn't make them look bad unless they took offense to be asst. with a crackhead like roberts.

I don't see the problem with him posting it here if he couldn't see the other links, and from what he's saying, he couldn't no matter how hard he tries. The movie looks very good. I've bought most of the previous Niolan releases and will definitely buy this one when it comes out.

I, too, am really looking forward to this. I read some where, maybe 1bob, that you've done other wrestling documentaries. Where can I find info on those?

Do google or yahoo searches for "Masters of the Ring," "Shooting Range," and "Backyard Criminals." All three are great, ESPECIALLY Masters of the Ring. That's a must-get DVD. All the others are iffy, depending on what you prefer, but Masters of the Ring has a ton of rare footage from Bob Barnett that's all DVD quality.

It's funny - I remember Chris Hamrick telling me about how this dude was interviewing him, Vic Grimes, New Jack, Sandman, Konnan, and Vampiro backstage at XPW New Year's Revolution in January 2002 for some wrestling documentary. He just shrugged it off and says it was probably bullshit, and two and a half years later I got the DVD and it's really cool. :)

I think it had more something to do with BTM using the WWE to get people in the theatre, and Vince wanting a cut.  Not 100% sure on that, though.

...I vaguely remember the same outline, except that Vince wanted control of the footage of anyone under contract by Titan, editing-wise.

That, and the money that goes with advertising the movie the way Lion's Gate did, exploiting the appearance of WWF likenesses.

Vince wanted to buy the movie and market it as his own or something. When the director, Barry Blaustein, wouldn't budge, Vince requested USA Network to show no TV spots for the movie.

And in an odd twist of fate, WCW actually ended up promoting the movie on their telecasts because Terry Funk, someone they were pushing at the time, was in it after WCW refused to be a part of the movie.

I remember Hogan, Piper and Ventura all doing a interview with Larry King to promote this movie. Despite...NONE of them actually even being a part of the movie. (Yes Ventura had a brief spot but still...)

at least Ventura did the dvd special extra "dinner" with Foley and Barry. I wish that went longer. Foley and Ventura had good chemistry together.

I find it funny they promoted the movie with Funk in who in the movie admited to being broken down and past his time...(this was 3 years before they actually released the movie) and yet there he is, in WCW at the top of the card in that stupid deal with Nash and Flair.
