Guest CronoT Report post Posted January 25, 2005 I do have a feeling that the reason people are clamouring for Big Dave right now is only because they can't wait to see him finally beat up HHH. Once that happens, I don't think they'll be able to maintain the momentum. I'd like to see me proved wrong though. At this point, people would pay money to see AJ Styles skull-fuck Triple H to death, title or no title. People just want to see him get the shit kicked out of him. Guest Fook_Theta Report post Posted January 25, 2005 Hunter getting beat I want to say increased ratings for a while in 2004. I know atleast most people online enjoyed watching him get beat, so I doubt this wouldn't carry over to the other marks. He's good at keeping his "I've got this match won" heat, even though he might lose fourteen weeks in a row. I honestly think HHH has built himself up to be the ultimate enhancement talent. He is still a threat, regardless of how shitty the match might have been laid out. This is probably due to him hitting the pedigree for the win so many times when everyone just knew he was going to lose the big one for good.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2005 I see your point, but longterm-wise there's nothing they can do with the guy once he wins the belt. Why ? One possible scenario: Batista wins the belt, beats the piss out of everyone for a year which the people go nuts for. Meanwhile, a face/heel gets built up and built up for a year, all the while staying away from Batista. Then, come the Rumble, this wrestler wins the Rumble, faces Batista at WM XXII, and beats him for the belt. Batista gets over with a year long reign that the people, presumably, would go nuts for, and the unnamed wrestler gets over for being the guy to finally end the reign of the beast that is Batista. Hunter might not like that idea, because it means him not being the top guy for an extend period, but Batista would go for it, because he'd be in the Billy Graham role. That'd be a good way to book it, of course, but I can't see Batista holding the belt past Summerslam. You're right, though, the more I think about it the more it makes sense that the Batista/HHH *MUST* be for the title. Especially since Batista's obviously winning the Rumble. I'm some what amused by the prospect of 2 months of HHH trying to convince Batista to jump to Smackdown and challenge Bradshaw.
