It was like he didn't even attempt to sound English. He did. Basically he knew he couldn't do a British accent, so he didn't bother. Cheadle was (I think) going for a Liverpudlian accent but it really wasn't there. To be honest, it seemed like an in-joke of some sort with the Ocean's Eleven bunch. No way was that a Liverpudlian accent. It had to be a bad attempt a cockney with the use of rhyming slang like "Barney Rubble".

You're probably right. I'm not exactly an accent guru. Anyways, the rhyming slang was another reason why I thought it was some sort of in-joke. I mean, why throw it in and then go to the trouble of explaining it? Remember, this is the same movie where EVERYONE understood Chinese, and the Chinese guy understands English perfectly.
