The Czech Republic Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 All I can say is poor poor Elton Brand. The guy just picked the wrong decade to be good in. I think Patrick Ewing, John Stockton, Karl Malone, and Charles Barkley are ahead of him in the line for Most Unfortunate Timing.
Guest goodhelmet Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I know Ginobili got the nod this year thanks to some Charles Barkley cheerleading but Tony Parker has really been the model of consistency after a slow start and is easily the West's 2nd best point guard. If I had to have two Spurs on the team, I would have picked Tony over Manu for the All Star team.
Brett Favre Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Bibby is the West's second best PG.
Guest Vitamin X Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 I'd put Parker over Bibby. And of course Nash goes without mentioning.
Brett Favre Posted February 9, 2005 Report Posted February 9, 2005 Bibby doesn't have the best player in the league by his side, averages more points, more rebounds, more assists, more efficient player.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 I'm taking Bibby too, better scorer, better passer (he gets around 6 and a half assists a game despite the fact that the whole Kings offense is ran through their bigs) shoots a better percentage from three, gets more rebounds and steals. If you wanna go just based on play too, Bibby thrives in clutch situations where as Parker tends to be a non-factor. Parker has a better field goal percentage but just barely and thats considering Bibby's role requires him to shoot a lot of 3's and long 2's. I don't really think there's much of a comparison frankly.
Brett Favre Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 Me neither. I'm surprised this was even discussed.
Precious Roy Posted February 10, 2005 Author Report Posted February 10, 2005 Ditto. I was shocked to hear Kenny Smith and others mention him as an all-star. He's one dimensional on offense, unreliable outside shot, and without the defense collapsed on Duncan he'd have a hard time driving as much as he does. I'd much rather have Mike Bibby on my team. I'd rather have Jason Williams for that matter.
alfdogg Posted February 10, 2005 Report Posted February 10, 2005 Don't forget that the Hornets are in the West now, too.
Precious Roy Posted February 10, 2005 Author Report Posted February 10, 2005 Don't forget that the Hornets are in the West now, too. Oh yeah. I'd take Dan Dickau over Parker too!
