Once close friends in the Kings of Wrestling, the faction of Jarrett, Nash and Scott Hall violently imploded in the weeks leading up to Final Resolution. Both Jarrett and Nash nearly came to blows during the Friday press conference and had to be restrained by TNA security. Nash’s last words to Jarrett echoed throughout the room: “Shine up that title – because it’s coming to me!” Literally, this will be the biggest challenge to date to Jarrett’s World Title reign. If multi-time World Champion Nash were to win the title, it would mark the first NWA World Title reign in his illustrious career. For the first time on pay-per-view, these modern day gladiators will meet in a 30-minute iron-man match with the winner being the man who scores the most pin falls in a 30-minute time limit. This company and the Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes, always watch out for their poster-boy,” said Daniels “but on February 13th, AJ Styles will be on his own, one on one with the greatest X-Division wrestler in the world. After 30-minutes, there will be nothing left of the Phenomenal One.” AJ Styles is coming off a victory at last month’s pay-per-view event “Final Resolution” where he re-captured the X-Division title in a historic Ultimate X match. “I have always been a fighting champion, whether it has been the World Heavyweight, Tag-Team or this X-Division title,” said Styles “I am not afraid of any challenge or any competitor, ten minutes, thirty minutes, it could even go an hour. I’ll take them on and I’ll leave Orlando still the champion.” TO WATCH A VIDEO PREVIEW OF THIS MATCH CLICK HERE: http://www.tnawrestling.com/againstallodds/index4.html FULL METAL MAYHEM (TABLES, LADDERS, CHAIRS & CHAINS) The Charismatic Enigma Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss On Sunday, February 13 at "Against All Odds" live and exclusively on Pay-Per-View, "The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy will face the monster Abyss in TNA's first-ever "Full Metal Mayhem" bout. It will truly be an "anything goes" war, as Hardy and Abyss will use any and all steel weapons in the bout to brutalize each other. Both superstars are on the verge of getting back into the NWA World Heavyweight Title picture, and neither is willing to let the other survive the bout. After beating Scott Hall at Final Resolution, Jeff Hardy declared he was refocusing on winning the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Enter the monster Abyss, who returned to TNA and attempted to obliterate The Charismatic Enigma. The object of Full Metal Mayhem? Hanging above the ring will be two envelopes - one of which contains a contract for shot at the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Whoever survives to pull down the correct envelope will win the match! Both masters of weapon matches, Hardy and Abyss will have tables, ladders, chairs and chains available at their sadistic disposal. Both are no strangers to hardcore warfare, and both want a shot at the World Title and are willing to annihilate the other to accomplish that. Who will survive "Full Metal Mayhem" and earn a World Title shot? Tune in to Against All Odds to find out! Styles 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 New stipulation for main event: USE THE GUITAR - LOSE THE TITLE!!! On Friday’s Impact, TNA Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes dropped a bombshell on NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett when he announced that if Jarrett uses his guitar this Sunday against Kevin Nash – he will automatically lose the gold! Jarrett’s guitar has been his weapon of choice in ending several recent controversial NWA World Heavyweight Title Matches. However, this Sunday during the Pay-Per-View main event, Dusty Rhodes will be watching to make sure the guitar doesn’t come into play! With one less weapon available for Jarrett against the big Kevin Nash, can the champion find a way to survive “Against All Odds”? Feel free to post in this thread, by the way. Styles 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2005 JJ v Nash? Well, TNA is trying non-money making ME's that even WCW lacked the guts to book. -=Mike I agree, Mike, it was an incredibly stupid move to make Nash vs. JJ the main event, especially since the ending of last month's show begged for a one on one rematch with Brown and Jarrett. What makes it even more frustrating, is that for all the grief we give Jarrett about not jobbing or elevating new talent, the Observer was reporting that Monty was JJ and Dutch Mantell's personal project and that when they were in charge the plan WAS to switch the title to Brown, but when Dusty took over, he just didn't see Monty as a star and felt putting "known" names like Nash on top was a way to reach out to wrestling fans and sell more PPVs. It's like mind blowingly frustrating, that we're pissed at the old regimes decisions, and then right when they were about to do something we all aproved of, the new regime fucks with that. Anyway, I'm hoping that TNA's goodwill from their last 2 outstanding PPVs (neither one were paticularly strong looking from top to bottom) and a couple intriguing undercard matches like the ironman and Full Metal Mayhem will be enough to convince people to order. The results so far of my poll though, are shaping up the way I thought they would. Make your opinion heard by voting in that too.

Which probably means that this is what will happen: After a few thousand ref bumps, Dusty then gets bumped, at which point Jarrett will try to use the guitar on Nash, but Nash will get it, use it on Jarrett, and pin him to win the NWA belt. As Nash celebrates, a second referee runs in to tell the first ref and/or Dusty what happened, and either Jarrett is ruled the winner by DQ, or the match is restarted, and Jarrett cheats to beat Nash, most likely using something other than a guitar, so he can gloat about having gotten around the stipulation that Dusty added. Styles 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 Dave Meltzer's Preview: Tonight's TNA PPV preview. TNA is coming off two excellent shows in a row. Last month's show only looked like a one match show, but wound up with two killer matches. *Jeff Jarrett vs. Kevin Nash for the NWA title. Well, it isn't as if anyone expects this match to be any good. The big internal debate has been what match goes on last, this or the Christopher Daniels vs. A.J. Styles Iron Man match. Most people I've spoken with think the other should, but Dusty Rhodes is the sole say-so on this and the betting line is he's thinking the NWA title has to be the preeminent thing in the promotion. This is a unique match because Jarrett has to lose for the good of the company, but Nash can't win, also for the good of the company. *Styles vs. Daniels for the X title. They are guaranteed to go 30:00. These two have great chemistry, dating back to the 2001 NWA convention match and 2001 King of Indies, which are the two matches that really started giving Styles a major underground rep. They've worked extra hard on the match, and both have a streak of awesome PPV matches. They have a pretty high standard to hit after the Ultimate X match last month. Everyone expects this to be a show stealer and match of the year caliber bout. *Chris Harris & James Storm vs. Kid Kash & Lance Hoyt for the NWA tag titles. These teams had several matches when they did the weekly Wednesday PPV format, and none were memorable. Still, Harris & Storm have pulled off two excellent PPV matches in a row and Kash has his days where he's really good. Hoyt isn't ready for this level. *Jeff Hardy vs. Abyss in a Full Metal Mayhem match, which means tables, ladders, chairs and more. Very much unpredictable, as Hardy always is these days *DDP & Monty Brown vs. Eric Young & Bobby Roode. This is the sleeper match. Young & Roode are both very underrated and are coming off a great match with AMW. DDP always works hard and he's got guys who can bump great for him. Brown has improved a lot and has the charisma. This has the chance to be a big surprise, or maybe it'll just be a match on the show *Dustin Rhodes vs. Raven. Raven is creative and Rhodes is going to have every opportunity to get over. This match will likely get a lot of booking help with objects and mirrors. *Elix Skipper vs. Petey Williams. Williams has been strong in recent matches. Skipper will work hard, but this is not a guarantee. This is the kind of match that has to be good for it to wind up as a kick ass show. *B.G. James & Jeff Hammond vs. Frankie Kazarian & Michael Shane. Well, we will see just how good Shane & Kazarian really are tonight. The idea of doing a celebrity match is to get mainstream attention, and well, this has gotten just about none. *In the pregame show, there will be a Team Traci vs. Team Trinity match, winner gets to continue sleeping with Dusty Rhodes. One thing about ex-wrestlers as bookers, is they can't help but put themselves over, but boy does this look silly to the outside world. The match is Bruno Sassi & Big Till (the Florida indie tag team of Phi Delta Slam) vs. either Mikey Batts & Jerrelle Clark or Ron & Don Harris. Another positive is the Orlando crowd has been a major positive for the recent shows. It doesn't look great on paper, but Styles and Daniels should be worth the price of a PPV. It really had better be. Sean Waltman and Billy Gunn are expected to be there tonight as well.
Guest LooneyTune Report post Posted February 13, 2005 If Billy Gunn (ever) shows up on TNA, what will he be called? WWE owns the rights to the name "Billy Gunn". Does this mean we get the debut of Monty "Kip" Sopp?
