Guest SoCalTF Report post Posted February 13, 2005 My thoughts on this awesome show: -Opening promos with Disco and Frankie where ok. I'm really digging the Kazarian/Bosh/Lost storyline. Stradlin and Kazarian had a real good match and the Stradlin win streak is going real well in my opinion. I'm really interested to see how the Dragon/Stradlin match turns out. -Roderick Strong and Ricky Reyes on 2nd? To be honest, I wasn't too excited that this was the 2nd match but that can't take away from this match. Lots of stiff chops and kicks, the kind of match you expected from these two. Strong's Backbreakers are so much better in person then on tape. Really fun match. -The 8 Man Tag was all sorts of hilarious. The Topgun/Tornado interactions where classic. Ronin's chops to Hook where so stiff they had Hook flying out of the ring crying and holding on to some random person in the front row. This match is up there with the 6 Man Tag from AYAPTR?!. -It was real great to see Shelley live. Generico has become a star in SoCal and is loved by the people here. Really fun match and both men really impressed the crowd, especialy Shelley who won over the crowd coming in as an "unknown" to most of the SoCal fans. -Daniels vs. Steen was another great match. Steen is a great heel and a fantastic worker. The crowd interactions where funny as hell. The promo at the end and Disco making a four way with Styles, Daniels, and Generico had the crowd going nuts. I honestly can't wait to see who wins that one. -As always, Bosh's antics where a hit. The best part of this match had to be when he said "Some people wonder whether or not I'm racist, and the answer is, yes I am". The match was real fun too. I enjoy the serious intense Sky and happy go lucky Quicksilver. It's a great Ying/Yang type deal with these two. I really thought the AXP had the titles won, but alas, they fall short again. -Dragon/Joe II(or III depending on who you ask) was really great. Watching it live was so great and the crowd was split in two and was more alive then the "Ooze" match. I liked how both Joe and SD tried to get their stuff out of the way at the begining of the match and try to gain the upper hand from the start, but what made this match awesome to me was how they where playing off the match before as they teased the Psycho Driver and the Over The Top Rope Belly To Belly. There where some moments where I thought Joe was going to get the win and vice versa. I have never been that excited over a match in a long time. When Dragon hit the Psycho Driver I thought Joe was legit knocked out. Lots of great stuff in this match that I want to mention but it has already been touched on. I really don't care what the people who boo'ed at the ending think, but I thought it came off as Dragon's little form of vengance on Joe and hopefully this will add more feul to the fire and we'll get a blow off to the SD/Joe feud with one final match with a clean finish. I have never seen a crowd in F&S so hot since SD/Slymm over one year ago. Overall: PWG hits another homerun. Many where worried about whether the move to F&S would derail PWG's momentum, but really it turned out great. It seemed as if everyone's spirits where higher then normal and the vibe was real great. It's pretty cool seeing different faces at the AWS arena. I feel that this show was PWG's best. I thought it would be hard to top the last few shows but PWG keeps on throwing out great shows. And Super Dragon has really been on a huge role of great matches and I'm really looking forward to see how much better his matches get later on in the year as he's always been improving his game month after month.
