LessonInMachismo 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 I heard that Playmakers was a great show, but NFL didn't like being in the role of the proverbial naked emperor. I saw the set at Wal-Mart tonight for like $34. Is it worth buying and if not, is it so good that it'll just make me yearn for more?

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2005 Although most of the series has to do with their lives off the field rather then the actual football games. that's probably why it worked so well. I liked it. Deion Sanders even said that was closer to real football than any of the other movies. I have the set and enjoy it. But the DVD extras suck. Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted February 13, 2005 I brought this at a Used Store for 17.99 and it was an excellent show for what it is; a ESPN TV Show. But you should be a fan of Football first.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2005 But you should be a fan of Football first. What he said. You're not gonna get Emmy-level acting here, but it's good enough, and it doesn't take away from the drama of the series. I think that the Guerwitcz storyline on the whole was pretty good, even if parts were a tad unrealistic. And it's funny how all the stadiums looked like Skydome Rogers Centre, eh? I mean, they couldn't have gone to York University or Varsity Stadium for some outdoor games?
