Chris Rock makes fun of Oscars

Usually I only watch bits and pieces of the Oscars.  Since i live on the west coast I can get results on the net before it airs here anyway.

Rock is writing the show with David Spade:

Academy members apparently have one more thing to fret about come Oscar night -- David Spade said he's one of controversial host Chris Rock's writers.

 

Spade told late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel Tuesday night that he's working hand-in-hand with Rock for the 77th annual Academy Awards.

 

The actor-comedian said Rock's racy comedy during the ceremony would only continue to upset and offend a large group of people.

 

 

 

And, Spade said, he's all in favor of that.

 

The controversy over Rock's hosting duties busted wide open recently with the comedian's blunt interview with Entertainment Weekly.

 

Among his comments, Rock told the magazine that ''Awards for art are f---ing idiotic."

 

Oscar show producer Gil Cates downplayed Rock's remarks with the publication in a statement, saying they were "meant to be humorous digs at the show that some people, obviously including Chris himself, think may be a bit too stuffy.''

 

The Oscars will be handed out in Hollywood, Calif., on Feb. 27.

He should bring in Paul Mooney as a writer...that would be great

This could be another way to get people to tune in. Have Rock say a few soundbytes then spin it to have him come off as cocky and rebellious towards the show just to get more people to tune in

Jesus, what show was it that Mooney gave out the coon awards? That was one of the most horrible things I've ever seen.
