Survivor : Palau

Recommended Posts

I didn't watch much Amazing Race, Starv, but I did see some on the commercials and those "Best Week Ever" & "The Soup" kind of shows ... and from what I saw, she did look pretty cute.

But that reinforces my point: she looks better when she's not all 'fancied' up than when she is.

Well wait.......Colby was just as awesome as Tom is. He just picked the wrong person to take to the final 2.

Which was funny b/c my seat in the theater was next to Tina and I asked her if she thanked Colby for taking her and she said "I bought him a motorcycle!" Shit that must've been a nice motorcycle.

Colby was only dominate after the merge. The Tom-led Koror didn't even lose a single IC pre-merge and he won all but two ICs after the merge. So basically he lost two immunity challenges the entire game (not counting the stupid first swim to the shore). Colby lost five. Also, Jerri was running things early on in Ogakor from a strategic point of view, not Colby.

Ok I didn't know. I didn't even start watching Survivor until I had to go to NYC to see it. I had no interest in the show before that. As a matter of a fact I didn't even watch the next season after that. I didn't start until Survivor All-Star.

Did anyone else get tired of Kobe and his gay man PMS'n?

And what was up with calling Tom a liar and blah blah blah. I wonder if he was the only one that voted for Katie?

Does anyone else here think they could go on Survivor and do decently well?

I have a feeling I could make it to the merge. I'd probably just shut up and be respectful like Tom was but deep down inside I'd hate everyone and want to kill them and explode at them.

I don't think this has been discussed nearly enough yet.

Was I the only one who actually LOST respect for Ian for stepping off that buoy? He allowed himself to get trampled on by Tom and Katie in the last few days. They schooled him. They made him feel bad for trying to be strategic in what is supposed to be a game and, in the end, he caved into the both of them. Immediately after that point, it became perhaps THE most anti-climactic Survivor finale ever. Before then, the tension between Tom and Ian was making it one of the best.

I just can't respect someone backing out of the game simply because another person made them feel bad . The guy really needs to let his balls drop before truly stepping out into the real world.

Unbelievable. How dissapointing. Tom vs Ian was money, I could never see how Ian came to that conclusion.

Hell no. I'm like Kahran - I'd prefer to do The Amazing Race.

No, he didn't vote FOR Katie. He voted AGAINST Tom. I think he even blatantly admitted. Shows how piss-poor of a F2 it was: 6 people that voted for Tom and one that voted against ... Katie was just there. It could have been Tom versus a pile of rat-dung and it would have been the same.

NYU, no, I lost respect for Ian, too. He was spun in such circles by Tom & Katie those last 2/3 days, I don't know how he can face himself in the mirror. Having said that, though, I think that there's a chance that he knew he couldn't last much longer on the buoy, and knew that Tom was going to pick Katie for the F2 anyways, so he came up with this scheme to get back in his "BFF"s good graces.

And count me as among the ones that wouldn't do well on Survivor. I'm too loud & outspoken (and sarcastic and generally unlikable). I'd be one of the ones that pissed people off early, and would probably not make it to the merge. If I could make it that far, I'd do reasonably well (I think that I could hold my own in a few of the immunity challenges) ... but unless I alligned well, I'd be fucked.

The funny thing about this whole situation is that I did gain some respect for Katie after all of this went down. Could she have handled herself better in the final TC? Sure, but I like the fact that some people (like Caryn and Janu) were looking for some ego-soothing answers, and Katie didn't give it to them. And her answer to Caryn was absolutely true - Caryn, Janu and Katie were all UTR types, and Katie was the only one who attached herself to a strong alliance.

Also, she worked Ian to the point where he gave up a chance at the million (although I think he got $75,000 anyways for third) so that she would have it. I dunno, that's not too bad for a floater. Best player ever? Hardly, but not really that horrible either.

I agree that it's a pretty bad-ass move not to blow smoke up the jury's ass ... but for a million dollars, I'd have said just about anything to try and get their votes. She already knew that she had Coby's (well, that Coby was going to vote against Tom) so if she could get Janu or Caryn to vote against Tom, too, she'd be thisclose to getting the million.

I think she knew that second place (and 100k) was as good as she was going to get, so she just accepted it.
