... Posted March 1, 2005 Report Posted March 1, 2005 And as much as Bill Murray rules us all, Where the Buffalo Roam was a bit of a plodder. Good casting choice though.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Sometimes I wanna talk about movies, but the proper folder for it is one of the worst on the board.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 I blame that on the plethora of Whedon fans.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Whedon fanboys, general lack of good taste in anything, etc.
Art Sandusky Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Downhome can singlehandedly drag anything down.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Downhome likes movies for all the wrong reasons. He thinks because he likes indie films that it makes him special somehow.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 3, 2005 Author Report Posted March 3, 2005 And because he got Three Ninjas Showdown at Mega Mountain for 5.99 using a top secret password, he must share it with the rest of the board.
Guest Failed Mascot Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Somebody should go find that thread where the gimmik DownSyndrome began.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 And because he got Three Ninjas Showdown at Mega Mountain for 5.99 using a top secret password, he must share it with the rest of the board. Oh god, is he one of those DVD collector scum? I can't stand those fucks; they dig through the Wal-Mart five dollar bin just to inflate their fucking collection. They don't care about what kind of movies they have as long as they have more than you. Horrible.
Nighthawk Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 I keep my dvds in the closet where no one can see them.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 3, 2005 Author Report Posted March 3, 2005 Oh god, is he one of those DVD collector scum? I can't stand those fucks; they dig through the Wal-Mart five dollar bin just to inflate their fucking collection. They don't care about what kind of movies they have as long as they have more than you. Horrible. Pretty much.
Nighthawk Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 Not really. He's one of those types who will fawn all over whatever the last movie they watched is, and act like they're some magnificent film critic because they were moved to tears by Gladiator or whatever. "Nine thumbs up!"
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 I was never able to click on his Napolean Dynamite thread simply for the subtitle.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 I was never able to click on his Napolean Dynamite thread simply because the movie was terrible.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 We really need an emoticon of a smiley, looking forlorn, playing a violin.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 I was never able to click on his Napolean Dynamite thread simply because the movie was terrible. You wanna quote lines from it.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 My dad quotes it all the time. He's a 46 year old Global Electronic Funds Manager.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 I thought ND was passable, but the scene where he danced after Pedro's speech was excruciating.
Nighthawk Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 It's legitimately better high, which is not something I say a lot.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 The song he dances to, Canned Heat by Jamiroquia (Jamiroqua? I have no idea how to spell that) is the only good part of that whole scene. The fact that everyone treats that movie like it's the second coming is out of their minds - it had no plot, repeated the same jokes over and over again, and was utterly boring.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Stranger Than Paradise has a skeleton of a plot and moves at a snail's pace, yet it's something of a masterpiece. Chew on that while I go smoke.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 And it's funny, too. Much more so than Napolean Dynamite.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 The difference is that Stranger Than Paradise was a depiction of loneliness, while Napolean Dynamite was just dumb.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 I exposed several of my friends to Stranger Than Paradise, making us all a bunch of nerds who quote it at random.
Nighthawk Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 Until just now I thought you were talking about Strangers In Paradise. If you've seen that, you'll know how bizarre your comments seemed.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 I'm choking the alligator.
Guest Vitamin X Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 We really need an emoticon of a smiley, looking forlorn, playing a violin.
Modern Man's Hustle Posted March 4, 2005 Author Report Posted March 4, 2005 Anyone watch the episode of South Park last night where Cartman kept pulling out the violin? Fantastic.
